Cool idea  New friends are always welcome & I try to be supportive (difficult some days but I do try!)

For those of you recommending Blackadder etc., and sorry if this has been suggested already, look up Rowan Atkinson's standup on youtube. In particular, the Indian Restaurant is very very British & imo very funny. Other classics are some of Alan Bennett's monologues - search for Alan Bennett 'The Telegram'. Oh, and…

For old school table-top RPG-ers - there's oots! http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots.html

I just finished a beanie hat & I'm on a zig-zag scarf (both crochet). My sister saw my hat yesterday & now wants one... so that's for after the scarf!

For computer-based games I think it was the ZX Spectrum for me :-) Probably about 30 years ago I would think!! Didn't look back, from the Spectrum to PC - I'm a keyboard & mouse gamer! For RPGs, it was the Fighting Fantasy "choose your own adventure" style books. I was/am a bookworm anyway, so stories you controlled? Best…

Ok.... Assuming that works, that should be the headless horseman of Skyrim, with me following avidly behind

Neither of you are mad! I not only managed to see him, but I followed him for miles & miles..... Rather than spoil it for everyone, I'll not post the outcome, if I remember later I'll post the screenie I took of him (not on home PC at the moment!)

If I remember right, the serving sizes on the back of the packet are 1/2 a packet. Also, the weight of the packet is dry weight, when it's made up with the water, it's heavier. So, if it's coming up as 188kcal per serving, I'd double that if you had all of it.

It's really difficult sometimes in an office job, if you hit a quiet period. What I'd do, is, as some of the others have suggested is not have anything easily available, or if you must have something, get some sunflower seeds or you could try munchyseeds (either www.munchyseeds.co.uk or I'm pretty sure I've seen them in…

I took a quick look through your diary. I'm no expert, but if I were you I'd look to increase veggies & fruit - I don't think I saw any veggies/fruit, although you might have had some included in your recipes. Also, make sure you're getting a decent breakfast - I know I snack way more if I haven't had a good breakfast. If…

Hello! I'm Ann & I'm also a boardgame geek. Like a bunch of you here, we had family games when I was growing up - monopoly, trivial pursuits etc. Oh, and not sure if it counts as a board game, as there's no actual board, but we played Mah Jong as a family as well. I got into the games workshop ones when I was around 10 -…

There's being honest & there's being brutal... A lot of these are people being brutal. For me, one of the nastiest ones was from a 7year old, who was pushing for a reaction and made some comment about me being rounder than other people. I think I could have taken the comment from an adult as I probably would have come back…

This place is a den of steeeeeeeeeenking evil, let's give it a good shake & see what falls out!! I love minsc, one of the most entertaining NPCs ever. I particularly liked him saying how we were all hero's when walking in disguise in the underdark

If I remember correctly & assuming you're on PC, isn't F5 the quicksave? Sorry, not a console gamer, so I can't help out with those :-)

Not by a friend, but my mother has said to me "You'll never be as skinny as your sister". To a certain extent, I suspect she's right, my sister & I are of a similar height (she's slightly shorter) but I have much broader shoulders and wider hips than she does, so I think I'm always going to be perceived as bigger.…

See, I've mostly given up on TV these days, there's not much worth watching, and the things that are worth it are usually on the internet somewhere (bbc iplayer etc). That gives me time for other things like video games, books, work-outs, crafts etc. etc. etc. Although, I'm guessing from your name you're in the…

I hoard. Games, books, beads (for jewellery), things that might come in handy some day  I hoarded before I was a gamer though & it translates into gaming - I *hate* giving up anything, I've lost count of the number of items I've kept "just in case". I think in Morrowind I had little stacks of armour of all types,…

The TV guide is only a *must read* if you watch TV ;-) @OP. If you want light fantasy, try some of the 500 Kingdom books by Mercedes Lackey - variants on the traditional fairy tales & she writes strong female characters & the twist on the fairy tales are quite good. Charlaine Harris has another series as well, the 'grave'…

The problem I have with the kindle is that I love re-reading a lot of my existing books, so I'd need to put them on the kindle, which, as someone's pointed out, costs about £8/book.... which is a little excessive. Not to mention, some of the authors I like, (sci-fi/fantasy) write trilogies/massive great series & there's…

It does sound like living with children!! I think you're very tolerant not to have lost your temper with them already! I think I'd be tempted to cook the healthy food & if they started to moan, point them in the direction of the cooker!! However, that's glib & easy for me to say :) What about doing soups? You can put bunch…

If there was a boardgame cafe round here, I'd be there constantly! I don't know if there are any in the UK though :( When I had cats they used to chase dice, or bat at figures - I think they think they were participating in a helpful manner....!

Only the one? If summons count - I'd like my daedra lord from skyrim. If not, then, the plasma gun from fallout NV, even my limited ability with guns worked with that

I think it would have to be a zx spectrum game.... but as we're going back almost 30 years (sigh, how to feel old!!), I really can't remember :-) It definitely wasn't valhalla or the hobbit for the zx though, never finished either of those

I totally understand where you're coming from - it's really disheartening to hit a plateau - I've been at one for about 6 weeks & I seem to gain/loss the same couple of pounds. What I'm trying is to increase the exercise I and, and vary the calorie intake until I hit the right amount to lose without feeling faint, and…

Bump for later :-)

Really? I never managed to get far into ToEE, but I loved Baldur's Gate 2, the old hero's of might & magic rpg's (as well as the strategy ones). Of all the old school ones, planescape torment ranks high on my list of favourites, lovely storyline & excellent setting. Going further back in time, there were the original…

I'm a technical expert! No, honestly, that's my job title :-) I work as a Business Intelligence consultant, so I work on a customer site assisting them with getting the software up & running and whatever else is needed to get them actually able to use the data they have. So yes, I'm a geek (and proud of it).

bump! Definitely trying this one on Saturday :)

Bump for when I get home on Thursday! :)

1/2 & 1/2.... Does that make me a gerd or a neek?
