I love almonds and walnuts chopped on salad and whole almonds as a snack. 1/4 cup is considered a serving and is about 210 calories. Agreed that it's a moderation item.

Whiskey is 1/2 the calories of beer. I'm partial to whiskey and Coke Zero. I keep reading that the ideal limit for drinks is one per day for women and two per day for men. It's ok to let it rip a little once in a while, but realize that you'll need to do some calorie burn in the days to follow to make it up.

It's crazy how much sodium is in EVERYTHING. Trying to limit it is such a battle every day!

Salmon is wonderful when grilled with some lemon juice and spices of your choice. We're going low sodium and like the Mrs Dash and some of the Weber flavors for grilling out! Other fish like Tilapia is also wonderful grilled, but on tinfoil. Check with a fork for the meat to flake off and it's done!

I am 6'4" and currently at 235 lbs. My daily recommended calories from MFP is 1,610 plus my burned calories. Right or wrong, I am currently leaving about a 300-500 daily deficit until I get closer to my "healthy" BMI.

I love it with just pepper, but have given it up now because I can't find one that is low in sodium. What is up with all the damn salt already?!

Hi Bud, I'm more on the cardio so far, trying to work in more weight training. More of a whiskey drinker, which is half the calories of beer (although I love the rich beers as well). Friend request coming your way! -Kenny
