I was diagnosed with Hypo 17 years ago. Since then, it has been a complete roller coaster. Only this year was I finanlly told it was Hashimotos. I began to research all I could. I started seeing a new natural doctor for treatment about a month ago. The new clinic gets to the root of the problem, not just treating the TSH…

A cutie you are! Congrats...

I bought mine from Fleet Feet. I can't remember the name of it though. It was $40.00. Best sports bra I've ever had. I'm a 40DDD and they hardly move!

Ok, that makes more sense. Thanks for the help!

I was looking at the FitBit One. I was on their website and it looks like there is some kind of band you can purchase for an additional $99. I'm assuming for it to calulate your calories and such, it will need to know your heartrate? How does it do this just from being strapped on your clothes?

Hello! I just came across this thread and found it interesting. I have been wondering the very same things. I was diagnoised as Hypo 17 years ago, when I was 15. I am now 32 and seeing a new doctor. I am just now finding out that it is Hashimoto's. I am taking 150mcg of Synthroid after not being on any medication for a few…

I have completed 2 Warrior Dash runs...even at 250ish pounds. The hardest for me was the jogging in fields. Hitting holes and catching me off balance or twisting an ankle. I skipped a couple of obstacles I thought I couldn't complete. (Ones requiring upper body strength) I second the dont wear anything with pockets or…

Hello, newbie here! I have been Hypothyroid since I was 15 years old, so for the past 17 years. About 2 years ago, I lost 85 pounds. Then the weightloss stalled and have since gained 30 pounds back! I began seeing a new endocronoligist, which just told me I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis with TSH level of 23.4. Losing weight…

Yes! Mine has done this my entire life, regardless of which weight I am at. Anytime my body heat goes up, for whatever reason, my face is blood red! Exercise, drinking alcohol or just sitting in a hot room. I can take cold water, place it on my face and let it air dry. It will help some but will never go away until by body…

We spend about $800 a month. Family of 4 including 2 preteens eating me out of house and home!
-
I would say you need a more balance of protein and carbs throught the whole day.
-
I am always fatigued no matter what I do! So frustrating!
-
Ahhh That makes sense! I'll have to have him check that at my next appointment. Thanks!
-
Do you take anything?
-
At this point, I'd like to be able to last 5 minutes! haha I'm not sure what the hemoglobin is...my iron levels have been tested. Is that the same?
-
I do eat red meat a couple times a week and spinach as often as possible. Mine is also due to low iron and I am horrible about taking medication. I do good to take my thyroid pills daily and I can't take the iron with the thyroid. Ugh! I only feel it when I do intense exercise...so jogging, climbing stairs and squats too…

Everyone is making all these suggestions but they are things I've already tried before. I've been to the doctor, I've made these changes. I wait 30-60 days before I'll try something else. One thing I haven't tried is low carb because my dietician says they are needed for the amount of working out I'm doing. Sometimes I eat…

I am 5'3 and weigh 250 pounds. I am aiming for 175 at this point. The last diary entry is for today...I haven't had dinner yet. :-)

I never know what activity level to check. I sit in a chair for my job getting up maybe 1-2 times per hour. I take the stairs to help with that. So because of this, I always choose sedentary.

I worked with a trainer whom was a dietician 2x a week for a year. I am not doing anything different. I lost 75 pounds the first year, then the it just stopped. I kept plugging away at it through mid year last year. With 0 results, I went back to maintainence and stopped logging for a while. It was driving me crazy and I…
-
Thank you, I appreciate that! I do measure, even if I don't log. I have been at this for 2 years now so it's kinda just habit. I eat the same foods in the same amounts from day to day. Kinda boring ha!
-
Ok, I'll try adding that back on. Thanks!
-
I have seen both types. I actually have an appointment next week with the GP and the endo next month.
-
As previously stated, I have increased my calories, reduced them, changed my routine and even did the zig zag calorie thing over the last year. Durning November and December I went back to maintainence trying to let my system reset. Then began again first of the year. Havent lost a thing yet. I do eat my exercise calories…

I was at one point tracking sugar then I realized most of what I get is natural so I took it off. So whole wheat bread, no good? Yikes! Just when you think you are doing good... I haven't tried the salt, I've been using sea salt and just a sprinkle here and there. Not much.
-
No, I do not buy low fat. I do get light dressing only because I think it tastes better. I use real butter and coconut oil. I just recently changed the fat/carb/protein ratios to see if that makes a difference.
-
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I have been to a couple different doctors over the last year complaining about my lack of weightloss only to be told my levels are normal. :-(
-
I have been doing measurements. Also I'm wearing the same clothing I've been wearing for the last year. They do not fit any different.
