i am cautious of such drugs. they all have side effects (some that don't show up for some time) and what do you plan to do when you get off the drug? in my experience it's best to address the issues underlying the need to overeat. just my opinion. i'm happy you've all lost weight but is this really the way?

momf3boys....good luck on the surgery..

how can white flour pasta be good for you? especially every day? how about some real food?

i've taught myself that it's none of my business what other people think of me. we can't change others. we can only change ourselves. even if you have to repeat over and over while you are at the gym "this is for me..i am worth it" and positive messages like that, whatever it takes...to focus on ourselves and our…

you may need orthotics. they've made a world of difference for me!

i am so seriously, rarely hungry. i often eat my lunch (which i did not eat for a good 5 years) just because it's on my plan. (i never lost any weight NOT eating lunch but i am losing weight eating it!!). with this plan, i have been quite hungry a few times but another glass of water usually takes care of that. as for the…

:flowerforyou: i'm 60 i am no fitness expert but i do know a thing or two about what i will stick with and that is anything i enjoy. i think there is so much more benefit to our 'whole being' when we get outdoors. exercise, then, becomes more than just burning calories. going for hike, for me, is much more than that. even…

sugar is as sugar does...in other words when i eat white sugar, then i want more. so i eat very little of it. i have to say i don't get so addicted to honey and maple syrup. i can eat them now and then and forget about it. but sugar, when i eat it, starts talking to me 2,3,6 hours later.. fresh fruit helps, as it has…

probably the best things i've eaten from a crock pot were ribs. but i do everything from whole chicken to beef stew in a crock pot. i find potatoes add a lot of fluid so you don't need much fluid if you add them. carrots hold well, whereas something like broccoli just falls apart and mushes. baked beans are also good in a…

i make a simple olive oil and lemon (or sometimes apple cider vinegar) dressing with sea salt, black pepper and whatever herbs strike my fancy (often dill). one can also add crushed garlic. the oil and lemon are about equal in amount. refridgerate. the oil will 'set' so you just run the container under some hot water and…

hi specky. i don't think any of us get here because we have perfect mental and emotional health. we eat for reasons that need to be uncovered and dealt with. you have been to doctors, how about some counselling? i also use overeaters anonymous, where i have learned to face my past and leave it there. we have issues, not…

yes, that is a tough one. i live with my slim, 27 year old son who eats and drinks as he pleases...but i just keep my focus on why i am here doing this, day after day. one can ask for specific support from our significant others we live with but we can't force anything. interestingly enough, my son now often just eats what…

hi rissa: good luck with your 30 days of no junk, soda and fast food. i gave up soda a few years ago and probably have one or two per year. i don't miss it at all. pretty much the same with fast and junk. once a year to remind me how awful it makes me feel!!! if i get a hankering for 'fries' i can roast some potato wedges…
