  • general staples I like to keep on hand are - eggs cottage cheese greek yogurt whole rolled oats whole wheat bread (or bread of your choice) turkey breast peanut butter nuts, seeds chicken breasts cheeses turkey bacon (holy sodium I know!!) fresh fruits fresh veggies low fat frozen yogurt frozen blueberries frozen pitted…
  • Save your money and put it towards a nice mani/pedi.......you'll get the same weight loss results that you would from a wrap (zero) but at least you'll have a nice pamper day for yourself!
  • At quick glance I thought this said 'I miss carbs' Personally I don't subscribe to a low cat diet
  • Yes, go to the gym and workout on your off time and don't worry about getting a good burn in while your at the office.
  • Yep...you're correct, you're not supposed to eat back the exercise calories. I just noticed this in her diary too. Some days netting almost 2000 calories. Probably not a big enough calorie deficit. And in reference to the large amount of fat consumed everyday - true, fat does not make you fat, but there comes a point when…
  • It's a wonderful thing that you are doing! :flowerforyou: Since your mother has so many health problems and medications and is already under a doctors care I would strongly advise you to consult with her Doctor to determine a healthy calorie goal for your Mom. Best wishes to you and your family!
  • Honesty you look great! You are in a healthy weight range and those last few pounds are killer to lose!! What types of workout are you doing? You probably need to focus more on body composition at this point which means - less cardio and more heavy lifting. Weights that challenge you, if you can do 12 reps it's too light.…
  • Who resurrected this thread?!?! FIRST OFF - OP HAS DEACTIVATED HER ACCOUNT. SECOND - BLACK COFFEE HAS ZERO CALORIES.
  • I love sugary coffee drinks! I wouldn't eliminate coffee - but I would learn how to enjoy a lighter version (less cream and sugar) or order a small only. Log it in your diary and if the calories fit for the day...don't worry about it. You can enjoy foods that you love and still lose weight. It's called moderation!
  • Like someone else said - eat more protein and less fruit. I looked at your profile and your weight is 115 and your goal weight is 99 pounds? How tall are you? Why are you limiting carbs, bread, pasta?
  • Step one - go to the success forum and read some of the stories of people who have truly ' struggled' to lose amazing amounts of weight and made complete body and life transformations in the face of adversity. Step two - hopefully that put your mind into a different prospective. 140 pounds at 5'5" is hardly the end of the…
  • I've noticed that increasingly people are becoming too distracted by technology (ipod, ipads, iphone's, smartphones ect) at the gym and they're pace is slowing down. I agree with you it's frustrating! The other day the woman next to me on the treadmill must have received and replied to 20 texts in the half hour we were…
  • ^^^ Yep this!!! Just ignore. I go over everyday.
  • Very cool! I love it!
  • Lol, well you definitely have my sympathy! I'm also in the same boat. I don't really care for meat that much and would have no problem eliminating it from my diet completely if it were not for the fact I'm always low in protein. The only kind of meat that appeals to me is the over processed kind - smoked turkey, bacon,…
  • Growing up as a child I was always the chubby little girl. And all through grade school and high school I was heavy...not huge but pudgy enough to feel not as pretty as the other 'skinny' girls. At 19 I found exercise.....it changed my life. I didn't know anything about nutrition, calories in v. calories out ect ect...all…
  • Just enjoy! We went on a cruise last year and loved it!!! The food on the ship was delicious!! Life is too short to worry about 'diet's' on a 4 day vacation! Eat up and enjoy! Try to get a lot of walking and activities in and make a commitment to start again when you return!
  • This post makes me want to detoxinate my brain........
  • Sugar.....in moderation.
  • Like others have said - WALKING!!! Walking outside, walking on a treadmill, walking DVD's (I highly recommend Leslie Sansone's walk at home DVD's). Also don't be afraid to try other types of workouts......that's what the modifications are for, keep it low impact until you build up your fitness level.
  • Am I being punked??!! Is it still April Fools Day?!?! April Trolls Day?!?!?!
  • The timing of your meals has nothing to do with weight loss. My kitchen is never closed UNLESS I've ran out of calories for the day!
  • Hmmm you may be over thinking this a bit. I would just wear the HRM during actual exercise, log that figure and be done with it. All the rest is just part of our normal daily activities...we can't account for every single calorie burned within a day, at some point a line has to be drawn.
  • What?!?!.....no 7 day cleanse too?!
  • Meal 1 snack Meal 2 snack Meal 3 snack
  • It's just an estimate, not to be taken so literal. Plus for most of us 'everyday is NOT like today'...there's a lot of variables day to day that are not taken into account. Overall you're having success in your weight loss...Congrats on the 12 pounds. In looking at your diary...there are some days that you're over the 1600…
  • I would rather have one cup of coffee a day fixed the way I like it, than quit all together. My morning cup is usually 70 - 80 calories, fits into my daily calorie allotment. Keep the coffee, try to add sugar and creamer in moderation! :drinker:
  • I'm 54.....been working out like a beast until I hit about 46. Then I noticed some changes in my body as far as recovery time and flexibility. I may have to pace myself more now, treat my body a bit kinder but I still consider myself to be in great shape. 30 years old....   .......that's a kid!!!
  • Sundays are my day to eat whatever I want. Pizza..yes! Fries..yes! Ice cream..oh yes! It would be a sad sad life if I was only allowed to eat 'diet' food for the rest of my days. All things in moderation!! I still log everything on Sunday and I keep to maintenance calories on that day.
