Last night - Minna Lessig's Strength and Grace workout - it's an old video but a goodie....great fusion of yoga and body weight exercises. Tonight will be an oldie again - Reebok step.

Absolutely work out if not more during the Holiday Season!!!!!!!!!!!
-
You're off to a good start! Patience! You can't expect results in 7 days. Hunker down to the long haul. Forget 'diet'. Think lifestyle change!
-
Eat a couple of cookies:wink:

Amazing! A true inspiration!

If shopping was an exercise to be logged I would be considered a world class marathoner!!!!!!!! But personally I would not log it. Our bodies are burning calories 24/7, you can't count everything! I only log an 'scheduled workout'.

And this is just me personally - there's nothing sadder than filling up on raw vegetables before the party and skipping all the fun appetizers!!! I'd much rather practice moderation and exercise my willpower and know that I will be back to business the next day.

Random thoughts on Surviving the Holidays: 1 - Relax, enjoy, don't have anxiety attack 2 - eat, drink and be merry 3 - work out A LOT 4 - pick which events are going to be a 'non-calorie counting event' or sticking to the plan event. 5 - don't eat if I'm not hungry, stop eating when I'm full. 6 - never pass up a tray of…

And you broke his trust by snooping around his internet history. Lot's of people like porn, guys and girls, it's not the end of the world. It's only a problem if he prefers to watch porn and eh hem take care of himself more than he likes being intimate with you. And if that's the case...porn really isn't the issue either,…

Body weight training!! If you do a search on youtube you'll find lot's of options for body weight training. Pushup, squats, lunges and planks are great for building strength when you are just starting out!
-
Lol funny you should mention it! I just recently dragged my step out, dusted it off and have been doing some of the old Reebok step routines. Holy heck it's hard!!!! Youtube has lot's of free step workouts - Jenny Ford, Jessica Smith, The original Reebok Step workout, Denise Austin and tons more, just do a search. It's a…

I don't count calories on my birthday!! I eat whatever I want and enjoy my day! The day after my birthday I'm back to beast mode - healthy eating and working out....bye bye cake. The important thing is consistency. There was a quote on Nerd Fitness once that I can't completely remember but the gist of it is - If you're…

You need both to get the best results. HOWEVER - you can not spot reduce!
-
Skip the gym on cardio day and - walk run jog hike bike swim invest in some exercise DVD's to do at home (you'd be surprised how little space you need to work out) and last but not least YOUTUBE has tons of free workouts and workout channels - Jessica Smith tv is one of my faves but there are many many others.

Amen and well said!! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!

Ouch! What's with the attack?!

I LOVE yoga!!! Is it an exercise? Yes it most certainly is!!! I've broken a sweat in yoga class and I've been sore the next day!! It's great for strength and flexibility. Give it a try!

Are they just going to give you cookies and ice cream for 5 months? They won't be serving fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs there? Define 'diet'? Because in my book it's not limited to lettuce leaves and plain non fat yogurt. It's not rocket science. Calories in vs. calories out. Eat the free food, but stay within your…

The next day I go back to my healthy eating habits, work out and stay within my calorie goal. There's no need to start a 'yo-yo' pattern of eating too much and then not eating enough. As long as you are normally consistent with a health calorie intake there's no need to worry about the occasional high calorie day.

:noway: Like to eat everyday?

There is always going to be someone smaller, thinner, fitter, prettier and now that I've reached the ripe old age of 55..YOUNGER. Boo hoo. In the end IF we're lucky, we all get old. Beauty is fleeting. Learn to love yourself and surround yourself with people deserving of your love. Strive for healthy and happy!!!! Lose the…

I've been working out since I was 19 years old which adds up to 36 years....that's a lot of sweat. The longest break I've taken in all that time has only been 4 weeks.

Turkey chili if I'm being good. Mac n Cheese if I'm misbehaving

Sadly you can't spot reduce and I won't go into the details of that. There are about gazillion threads on here explaining the how's and why's of spot reducing. It would be to your benefit to read up on it. As far as cardio at home - if you have access to the internet at home - YOUTUBE has tons of free workouts!!! My…

The curse of the evil scale...screwing with our minds. Even though you LOOK better and "I notice a big difference in my body. I'm toned, by stomach is tighter…everything is tighter actually" you're still worried about the number on the scale. When you can look in the mirror and see the visual change - this is progress!!!!!…

Are you diabetic? If the answer to this is no then quit worrying about going over the MFP sugar limit....as stated by many on here, it is set ridiculously low. Evaluate your goals and where you want to be - you look thin so I'm guessing weight loss is not one of those goals. I can't imagine drastically cutting your sugar…

COMMUNICATION. Tell him you've lost 46 pounds and when he doesn't acknowledge your accomplishment he's making you feel like ****. Just flat out tell him. Silent treatment??......Life is too short to play games! Say HEY I've lost weight, people tell me I look good..and then ask him why he has a problem with that.

Clearly a Troll trying to drudge up some forum drama!

Strength. Training.

This has been quoted before many times on MFP - "..it's not what you eat between Thanksgiving and Christmas, it's what you eat between Christmas and Thanksgiving"
