  • I would think that would be god awful uncomfortable - but hey to each is own!
  • Tea has health benefits but it doesn't have any 'miracle' properties for losing weight. You lose weight through calorie deficit, no short cuts.
  • Hey variety is the spice of life!! I love mixing up my cardio workouts! There is no set rule you have to stick to one type of cardio (unless you're training for a race or something)....I say mix it up!!! As far as strength training. Stronglifts seems to get a lot of votes around here. You might want to give it a try. What…
  • Unless she's been advised by a Doctor to go gf I'd say it's an unnecessary and drastic change in lifestyle.. for what?....With the hope to lose a few pounds and get a magically flat belly? The best way to lose a 'wheat belly' is calorie deficit and exercise with an emphasis on strength training, compound moves. There are…
  • When given the choice to either - 1) give up desserts forever or 2) learn to enjoy them in moderation I'll take door number 2.
  • I would absolutely without a doubt still work out even if I didn't have to. Actually..I'm not sure what 'didn't have to' means? Are bodies were meant for motion. I exercise for fitness and because it makes me feel awesome. Weight loss is not the only reason people work out!! Any who - I'm not much of a gym person either.…
  • Walking, yoga, and exercise in general are great stress relievers. Avoid caffeine!!! Talk to your Doctor Prayer Breathing techniques (youtube is a great free resource for breathing, guided meditations and yoga) Distraction - a good book always takes me away. Or playing Candy Crush lol. Also there is a website called…
  • So basically you want to drop a lot of pounds really quickly.........and then gain it all back...and then some. And continue to repeat this cycle over and over again. No problem, severe calorie deficit. It's totally unhealthy and you will be losing muscle and bone along with fat and putting a lot of stress on your body.…
  • No. Just no. There are no short cuts or magic pills. 'Diets' and fad diets don't work. The sooner you realize that then the sooner you will finally start seeing the results you want. Lose weight the healthy way AND keep it off. Use MFP as it was intended. Calculate a healthy sensible calorie deficit, log everything be…
  • 'Diets' don't work. Enjoy the foods you like in MODERATION.
  • The majority of people..of course not!!! But I've read a few threads in the past where a few people did. Crazy! In the end it's what works best each of us individually.
  • I am right there with you!!! I will log my calories to the best of my abilities but I REFUSE to weigh my food. I like to rely on intuitive eating and commonsense when it comes to things like pasta or dining out at a restaurant or someone's house.
  • Really??! Get a grip. You went on vacation. You had a lovely time. You're back. Get back to eating healthy and working out and quit worrying about a few pounds on the scale that is most likely water weight.
  • 1 -Calorie deficit for weight loss 2 - Exercise for fitness If going to the gym 5 to 6 times a week makes you happy, then do so. But it's not necessary for weight loss.
  • You don't have to eliminate any foods from your diet, you just practice moderation and portion control. Another suggestion would be to cook your own dinner. Grill up some chicken breasts to last you through the week. Make your protein as the main meal with pasta on the side, don't forget your veggies too.
  • I NEVER track when I'm on vacation!! Life is too short and vacations too far and in between......I allow myself a handful of days out of the year when I don't track and just enjoy life. And........the food on most cruises is amazing!!!!! My suggestion - relax and enjoy your vacation with your family rely on intuitive…
  • I'm a carboholic!! It's hard to narrow down to one. I'd have to say at the top of my list is probably pasta tho!!!
  • Eat foods you like but stay in calorie deficit!!!!!!!! No sugar, processed crap and giving up coffee is going down the road of 'diet' again..you only wind up miserable and giving up after a few months. And 'diet's don't work!! Stay in calorie deficit log every single bite Try to eat healthy - this doesn't mean you have to…
  • Me! I'm totally with ya! The best indictor of progress is the mirror and how my clothes fit. I could care less about a number on the scale!
  • Love your enthusiasm! Wishing you the best. "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" is an outdated term. How about nothing tastes as good as FIT feels!
  • Too much cardio! If you're focus is body composition you need to lift weights, heavy weights that challenge you. Compound moves!
  • I'm sorry you feel this way! It sounds like you were trying to follow to rigid of a plan. Try not to think of it as a 'diet'. It's a healthy lifestyle!! It doesn't mean you are condemned to salads and the treadmill for the rest of your life. Food should be enjoyed!! Eat a variety of foods is healthy portions, don't…
  • Welcome! I'm 55 and feel pretty good for my age! That's the benefit of a healthy lifestyle - healthy food, healthy portions, exercise. You don't have to give up everything you love. Life would be so sad without cupcakes:wink: But when you learn moderation and portion control you can turn your life around......and feel…
  • bumping for the entertainment:wink:
  • I posted before on this thread but I just wanted to chime in again. I LOVE Leslie's Walk at Home DVD's. Some are free on youtube and I now subscribe to Gaiam TV (9.99) a month and you get unlimited access to all of Leslie's DVDs on there. (in addition to a lot of other exercise DVD's and instructors) Also - Jessica Smith…
  • Since you're in a healthy weight range you could probably benefit from upping your calories and focusing on serious weight training (heavy weights, low reps, compound moves) and body composition. Cut down on the cardio for awhile.
  • Congrats on your weight loss so far! I took a peek at your diary and I mean this is the most constructive way - you need to eat WAY more protein, drink less mountain dew and add more fresh fruits and veggies to your over processed diet. Pasta is the least of your worries. But hey you're losing so that's all that counts…
