Its not the type of exercise that determines weight loss its diet, if you want to be leaner you need to reduce calories
-
As has already been said, rapid weight loss equals muscle loss, muscle loss equals reduced capacity to burn calories. Also if you are exercising are you eating back calories burned? If not, in real terms you are consuming a lot less calories than you think.
-
Doesn't everyone?? Faster the cut the more lean muscle mass is lost.....slow and steady is the way to go
-
@Runecrow you are not eating enough, if your daily allowance is 1500 try and eat 1500, if you exercise and burn 700 cals try and eat at least 500 back, trust MFP it will get you where you want to be if you are honest with it.

some things are worth fighting for.....even when you think you have no fight in you, fight for what you want...don't be a loser, be a winner and make it happen, regain control of your mind and take charge of your life.

don't worry about how much you weigh or what % body fat you are, they are just numbers and mean little in the real world. If you are unhappy with your body fat stay in deficit and keep up the exercise until you like what you see in the mirror, after all..... if you look great....then you look great! regardless of bf% or…

if that isn't motivation enough I don't know what is, do it for yourself.....you deserve it.

I was doing weights three times a week for a long time with no cardio, but since October I've got into running and dropped a weights session, my schedule looks like this at the moment. Monday - weights Tuesday - run Wednesday - rest Thursday - run Friday - weights Saturday - shorter run Sunday -run although this week I ran…

gaining "weight" is easy, gaining lean body mass is difficult (naturally) to gain LBM as @Wheelhouse15 has said you need to have a calorie surplus, plus do some form of resistance training, plenty of ideas for training exercises on youtube. To keep fat gain to a minimum keep the surplus small to start with, maybe 200-300…

funny how when you were overweight no one mentioned eating disorders. But now you monitor your calorie intake, put thought and care into your food preparation, make healthy choices, workout and are leaner and fitter than before....all of a sudden people are talking eating disorders ??? :) "obsessed is the word lazy people…

I rarely weigh myself now, I go by the mirror and how my clothes feel.

It's a habit now, I eat and log a certain way and enjoy the benefits of healthy eating and exercise. I have re-educated my brain into thinking of food as fuel, which it is
-
I started MFP two years ago to lose fat, I lost five stone (70lbs) and have been on maintenance for around 6 months. I think I've managed to re-educate my brain about food being fuel, I eat at maintenance and log consistently, I have never looked or felt so good in my whole life, I want to stay like this...it feels great…
-
@Talan79 is right about recomp, you could take some photos of yourself now, then eat at maintenance and lift weights for four weeks, then take more photos, same time of day, same pose and same lighting then compare photos, if you see changes and like what you see carry on doing the same, if you see changes you don't like…

This.

yeah, six times a day for me too

your body doesn't know what time it is, as long as you are within your allowance you will be fine.
-
gaining "lean" muscle mass is a slow process if done "naturally" consistency, time and lifting heavy are what it takes.

I like to eat every couple of hours so, breakfast at 7, usually scrambled egg on toast. a snack at 10 usually 150g of cottage cheese, maybe an apple. lunch would be chicken or fish with salad or vegetables plus 150g greek low fat yogurt, 3pm nuts, seeds and raisins, evening meal around 6pm, again either fish, chicken or…

well done, you look great, :)

A little of what you fancy does you good :)
-
I have chocolate most evenings, but I only have 25g and make it fit my macros :) a little of what you fancy does you good.
-
nothing more simple than scrambled eggs....you can even remove a yolk or two if you want to keep your fat and cholesterol low

Hi Brent, GuitarJerry speaks the truth, calorie deficit, plenty of protein, train hard and stick with it, consistency and diet are key . I tried for years to get lean and never did, the reason I failed was because I was guessing what and how much to eat, finally I have achieved the best shape of my life at the age of 50…
