  • Congrats to the newly vaxxed! I was able to get my first on Jan 29th, and my second on May 14th. Hubby is waiting on his second likely in a month or so (Canada). We'll feel much more comfortable to plan trips as soon as that happens. By that time I'll be back in bikini shape, lol.
  • Sticking this month to my 16:8 or 18:6 depending on the day...still trending down slowly, but then again I do pop in a 'cheat' once in a while like too much cheese, or sharing a bottle of wine with hubby for dinner. Only 10 lbs to go til I'm back to my original happy weight - if I keep going I hope to manage that by the…
  • True 'nuff, psuLemon. Lots including me take supplements though, and not everyone understands that it needs to be done with care and awareness of not 'overdoing it'. :)
  • @psuLemon that's the omelette I order whenever I'm at a breakfast/brunch restaurant. With added fresh spinach in it. Awwwwesomeness!! These days I'm eating pheasant eggs (given to us by one of my hubby's customers who raise pheasants), so tender and such a mild flavoured yolk. Pretty shells too.
  • I don't suffer from them, but my brother, an uncle, and three of my cousins do. Theirs are tied to dairy sensitivities. You might want to corelate your food diary with a migraine journal to see if there are any links. One cousin got relief by using Imitrex tablets as soon as the auras started, just before the headache hit.
  • I think maybe your feed isn't showing from newest to oldest, but the opposite. I'm not much help since I do all my MFP on my desktop and loathe the app (I can't do anything or even find what I want on it.) Good luck with changing it over.
  • One of my husband's customers who raises pheasants gave us a coffee can full of lovely little olive green-y pheasant eggs. They are scrumptious and have a very mild tasting yolk. Of course you have to eat four instead of two as they are pretty small. Luscious fluffy and tender, cooked for a minute and a bit in the…
  • Here's a picture of Lily having a snooze with her little paws all tucked up and crossed, with her tail circling her hind feet. Sometimes she sleeps on her back all stretched out and with a twist to her upper torso reaching far out to one side. Looks so funny.
  • If your doc doesn't know dick-all about FM, or if you need very scientifically detailed info on your own condition: here's the latest as of April 9/2021 in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences. https://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8068842/ Fibromyalgia: Pathogenesis, Mechanisms, Diagnosis and Treatment…
  • :) :) :) <3 So glad to hear you are feeling better. I've finally gotten things under better control here and have dropped a bit more of the extra Covid poundage. Weighing in at 147 right now...so only 12 lbs to go to get back to my original goal weight from 2013.
  • Hi @sailor789, how are things going? I'm not a doctor, but maybe you should check with your health provider about the low sodium part of things. Low carber & keto-er folks tend to need more sodium, not less to balance their electrolytes. Also be careful with potassium since larger amounts can cause serious health problems:…
  • Hubby ended up getting Pfizer for his vaccine last Tuesday. No side effects except a bit of fatigue and an achy spot at the injection site on his left shoulder. Latest word on the news (BBC if I remember correctly) is that the first dose of Pfizer does NOT protect one from the variants right now, second shot will give the…
  • Hi there, @Kindhearts30! Hoping your shiftwork is going well, I have switched to the Light Side (a move from the Dark Side, lol), but still stay up into the wee hours since I mainly work afternoons now. We've adopted our elderly neighbour's tuxedo cat, Lily, since he is in palliative care in the hospital now and she knows…
  • Make sure you are getting enough magnesium. Natural Calm helps for restful sleep and also slow GI problems. https://verywellhealth.com/magnesium-for-constipation-and-ibsc-1944780
  • Oh yeah, almost forgot all the fresh nuts....macadamia and pecan mainly. I eat them by the fistfuls. :(
  • My problem isn't so much carb creep as way too much dairy (cheese) - which means way too much fat, and calories, meaning I have gained very slowly over the past 4 years or so (5lbs/yr.) I'm trying to be a little more aware of exactly how much I take in. If not for effortless intermittent fasting I'd probably have gained a…
  • Well, if potato helps, it's not a problem with the nightshade family. If you want to keep your carbs down and still have potato, you might want to investigate 'resistant starch' - short answer, once you cool potato and some other starches down it changes how the starch reacts in your system.…
  • I love fenugreek leaves in Indian food, but of course, I never use 10g in a recipe. Interesting anecdotal results for you guys though.
  • Hahaha, Nerd Time. I have enough trouble just filling out a food diary these past couple years. After doing it religiously to lose weight on Keto/HFLC I couldn't stand looking at the bloody diary any more!

  • Hubby got his text message link for his vaccination appointment today, he's getting the shot on Apr 27th. Looks like it's probably Moderna, as he will be getting it at the big clinic set up in the Recreation Centre, and not at the local pharmacy. @melmerritt33 have you tried tracking what kind of veggies you are eating and…
  • Hi @melmerritt33 good to see you back on MFP. I'm sure you'll be more comfy with the ketovore diet you are planning, I think a lot of us get into the mindset 'all or nothing' when most of us are likely better served with a tweaked diet plan that works for us specifically. It's just not always easy to find that sweet spot…
  • It was a surprise snowfall - the first of the season, a bit early but very pretty for a backdrop.
  • Greetings all, it's been a while since I posted on this thread, working on the frontlines during Covid and caring for my aging parents with Lewy Body Dementia has taken up all the space in my life these days. At least I got my Moderna vaccine at the end of January, so that's helped me feel a bit less anxious.…
  • For pastas, I really love Explore Asian bean pastas, they are organic, GF, low carb, with good texture and are high in protein too (30-36g per serving depending on the kind of bean they are made from.
  • Hmmm, never seen this brand, and I'm in South Central BC. Where'd you get it, and what are the ingredients?
