Weight loss or gain is an experience for everyone involved. I've watched it play out on MFP for 5 years.

Excellent progress Joe. Nice of you to open up about your journey.

Great work

Great tips...thanks all. I would up going with shorts and a long sleeve shirt. Lots of sunscreen and bandaids on the upper torso like Brian said. Oh, and a hat...Worked out perfectly.

Thanks for the suggestions and teases. I train indoors on the treadmill where temperature is always 70 deg. I wear shorts and a sleeveless shirt for that. I'd like to continue the dialog but I've got to go out and get a leopard print leotard for Sunday. Look for me on the news...

I could not say no

wtg bro, you look great

this sounds crazy, but keep anything 1 of 2 sizes up from your current size, I have come to believe the body will always add a few more pounds back on after you hit your lowest weight. it's not because of the person, it's like the body finally adjust to the new routine which involves adding a few more lbs. I've seen this…

Bad *kitten* if I do say so myself. You look great and I look forward to seeing you at goal. Congrats on working against the huge restaurant portions and cultural norms (couch potatoes) of our society that make it so hard to succeed.
-
All the hard work paying off big. Nice work all the way around.
-
Looking good. Congrats on showing the belly who the boss is.

Listen close to what the man below is saying. As for me, I have a family history of arthritis and I can tell you that everything hurts more when I am not running regularly. Oh, and I was getting close to 300 pounds when I started running. I got down to 185 pounds using running as my primary exercise.

Some advice from a hack runner... To train I ran 18 to 22 miles per week for several months. That's it, no other prep with food or anything. On the big day it took 5 hours to finish and I hit the wall at 18 miles or so (but still was able to run plenty during the last 8 miles). I tried anti chafing stuff but it did not…

good job all, mine chart has been flat for 2 years now, but the year before those 2 was impressive.
-
Everyone used to call me "Big Guy". They still do even though I am not big. I actually like it now because it reminds me of how far I've come.
-
That is super great. Now you've gone and outdone half the general public. :drinker:
-
mine was good for many years then started to creep up as a hit age 40. little bit of weight loss and healthy eating and I now have normal BP:glasses:

yes, great progress for 3 months. don't work about others, it you that matters

I got a proform from walmart for under 50 bucks. One note though. I bought three of them, one never worked (returned), one kept running chest strap battery down too fast (kept it), another works perfect all the time. I got a more expensive proform from sports authority that has a pedometer. it was 99 bucks. works great but…

After 77 pounds of weight loss I've been stuck for over a year. I've found that I can no longer move the scales with extra exercise. I can move them by lowering my food intake. So for a year I have been up 5, down 5, up 5 down 5.

get a room!!! LOL

Seriously, you are a funny man. Do yourself a favor and try some open mic nights. Drenched monster...he.he.he

I forgot about the cycling groups. The ones in my area are very considerate. BUT, there are always a few...uhh, let's just drive around blind curves at Lance Armstrong speed. Probably no toddlers around that bend...

When it comes to running and me...Stockholm syndrome
-
Thanks all... guess I need to start getting rid of the muscle. Anyway, here is the routine that I used to go from lean to bulk. Run = 20miles + per week Cycle = 60 Miles + per week Lift = 1-2 times per week 1 hour each Cross = approx 1 per month Food 2000-3000 per day with heavy protein :drinker:

Well then, big congrats on taken down that number. I expect your life has changed for the better and you deserve that for all your hard work..
-
Thanks marathon64. I thought I might get more than one reply...looks like it is hard to get support in the motivation and support message board. Maybe I will split the difference. I think I'll increase the cardio and get a better tan (note the bulk photo is a recent one).

Thanks for all the support.....
