Share your running peeves
I have running peeves. Please share yours too. B) Runners that do an about face when running. Uhh, why not look behind you first. And double peeve if you do this on a circular track, just keep going and you'll get to the same place. People with mean dogs. Leave KuJoe at home. Last thing I need is a big scare during my 10th…

Strange NSV
I don't know how the heck this works but my toenail fungus has vanished as a result of me getting fit. Don't believe me? I had it for at least five years. Noticed it started improving about 6 months in to my fitness program. Now I am two years in and it is gone. Sorry, no before and after pics, you'll have to take my word.

Stress Test Experience
I had a stress test today. I figured the story would be of interest to some MFP'ers. The test is meant to raise your heart rate under controlled/monitored conditions by running a hill profile on a treadmill while gradually increasing the speed. I asked the tech how high the test would take my heart rate. She said 178 BPM.…

For all the successes on MFP I've also witnessed many backslides and outright failures as well. Here are some of the warning signals I've observed. Please share your observations too. Continues to reemphasize the power of a previously defeated demon. e.g. I LOVE BREAD, THAT'S MY WEAKNESS Tries to compensate for overeating…

2012 Running Log Close Out with chart
This year I went running 141 times and logged nearly 800 miles. When I started (2 yrs ago) I'd nearly pass out from trying to run one mile. Now I can go as long as I want (usually cut it off at an hour). Today it was a 13 mile run in honor of 2013. Thanks MFP members for your support and know that I'll continue to support…

Please help me here. Below are 1 year before and afters. First pic I was at my goal weight. Second pic (taken today) I am 10 pounds up. 40 Y/O Man Fat to Flat with PICS
I’ve been working on this since early 2011. Lots of ups and downs along the way. Though it feels like a slippery slope I’ve maintained for 8 months. Thanks for the continued support from the MFP community.

Rapid Weight Gain is Real!!!
I’ve been on the program for well over a year. When I started I lost 80 pounds in the blink of an eye (just a few months), all through vigorous exercise and healthy eating. Now I am on the other side of it. I stabilized around my goal weight which is good, however, one misstep and I plump up like Mrs. Sponge after Sponge…

Cool way to profile the hills you run
For those who do not know about it... Google earth will let you profile the elevation of any path you draw on it. Below is an example (might be cut off because it is so wide). Very Cool.

Do YOU go up and DOWN?
Around the end of 2011 my weight loss experience changed drastically. Instead of holding steady with the occasional loss, I started going up and down on a daily basis. It is not unusual to have an 8 pound variation inside of one week. I've seen as much as a 6 pound difference from one day to the next. So for the last 6…

To my co-workers ;)
Folks act surprised that sensible eating and exercise are the key to weight loss success. So I suppose I should not be surprised at a new response I am getting from people around the office. It goes like this… 1. If I ran a mile I’d be completely out of breath. 2. I don’t know if I could ever run 4 miles straight without…
