  • I second the baby carrier idea! There are a TON of exercise you can do with them strapped to you. I was taking my daughter out on long walks when she was 3 weeks old. I mean you wouldn't want to jog that way, but you can do plenty of strength exercises that way: squats, lunges, bicep curls, arm raises, calf raises, and…
  • I'm 5'9 and looked pretty good at 149, I would have looked AMAZING at 135 though :) This time my goal weight is 145 because I'm working out more and want to account for the muscle. I think it depends on your frame size and your preportions. I was also happy in the 160-165 range because it wasn't as hard to maintain. The…
  • Are you just starting out with exercise, or upping intesity?? If so your muscles tend to store extra water to help with repairs after, and it may take a while for your body to release it. Also, are you drinking enough water, keeping sodium down? Water can play a HUGE role in scale lies.
  • Me last night!! When I say over, I really went OVER, by like 1000cals. It put me just above my estimated maintenance calories. I shouldn't gain from it, but I'm using it as motivation to have a really good day today and a great workout to boot!
  • I have used the shakes previously (no success there). They taste pretty good, and I enjoyed the convenience. I think they have too much sugar (compared to the other nutrients)for me though, and they didn't make me feel full very long. I would advise having them with something if they don't keep you full like slimfast +…
  • Exactly what other people have said... Type 2 *can* be reversable by healthy lower carb, or GI diets. The Vegan Raw diet is not a bad option either as it doesn't usually contain a lot of sugars. My Husband is Type 1, and no amount of diet or exercise will reverse that. The only difference would be he would have to take…
  • I'm a SAH/WAHM Mom. I run a licensed childcare center from my home. I have 2 of my own children 2 y/o boy, and 8m/o girl, and then we have up to 6 additional "friends" join us mon-fri :) It's busy, that's for sure!
  • I got those remarks last time I lost weight. I'm 5'9 and got to 149. The remarks started around 170, and even at 149 I still had a chubby belly, I'm sure I could have gotten to 135 if my head was in the game. Who the hell are they to tell you what YOUR ideal weight is??? They're just jealous! I just don't understand why…
  • I like others, plan on tracking at maintenance for a few months and the go "off the grid". I plan to track by scale an if I gain a few pounds then track and take it off...
  • I've never felt full on the premade shakes alone. I DO however love my protien shake at home. Its a combo between protien shake and green smoothy. I scoop PVL ISO-Sport Whey-Vanilla (30g protein) 2 handfuls of spring mix 1 serving low cal yogurt (I like the tropical flavor source) 1/8 cup ground flax 1/2 cup raspberries…
  • Usual week day (today not included because I slept in snd showered, ahhhh so good) 5:30 - wake up before demon-spawn 6-7:15 work out, usually Turbo Jam, sometimes a run, once in a while a walk 7-8 clean house for daycare, release demon spawn from their cells, make breakfast 8-11:30 welcome 5-6 more little angels into my…
  • The only one that can do it for you is YOU! I struggled with motivation for a long time. For me I can't stand the thought of not being around for my kids, and that is huge motivation, I want to be a good example for my kids so the don't grow up with the same food issues I did. Take small steps. I committed to one week of…
  • Welcome to my life, except replace 6lbs with 157lbs. It took a long time to gain it, and a lot of on-off dieting. I thought I was ready earlier this year in May, tried a diet, too restrictive, lost 12lbs, then gained back 17lbs. I am in no way over it yet, but I do feel more confident about my journey right now after…
  • 261.5, down 1.9 and thankful I still have a loss after last week!! :)
  • I am currently using PVL Iso-Sport whey. It tastes good, I usually put it in my smoothy, but I always blend it with fruit, spring mix, a bit of yogurt. The powder is 140cal per scoop, but 30g protien. I use it for post workout snacks (or usually breakfast after a workout)
  • I had this issue a while back when I got a new scale. I just weighed in heavier and kinda started from scratch. I did notice that my scale will be off when not on a perfectly flat surface. I would compare it to a 3rd scale to find out which one is inaccurate.
  • I don't often eat back my exercise cals, unless I feel like I'm hungry or having "one of those days". I've been losing steadily. I fully intend to eat back my exercise cals eventually, but I'm anticipating that won't be needed for me until I'm under 200lbs. I usually look at my average over the week. Some weeks I'm under…
  • Looks beautiful!! Sounds like it could be perfect for you guys. As far as the dress goes, work your *kitten* off, and you might be able to do it. In the mean time, take it to a seamstress(sp?) and see if the dress could be let out if it needed to be just in case. I would think you could get to at least a 16-18 by then, you…
  • Give yourself a shot, give it one week of really accurate logging and make a goal to walk everyday. You have to kick your own butt. Try eating "clean" for a week and making sure you get 8-10 cups of water. You can do it but you have to be willing to be accountable to yourself. There are no short-cuts to successful…
  • http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/research-review/impact-of-the-menstrual-cycle-on-determinants-of-energy-intake-reseach-review.html I found this and it seems very interesting. May explain a few things
  • So... If you ate 1500 cals of broccoli that would make it more ok?
  • EXACTLY! Well that's exactly what I believe... For now, I eat them sometimes, not often, and not usually very much of them... BUT I also believe that I may need to eat some/all as I get smaller and my body wants to hold on to more, but for now (at 263) I've got plenty to spare :)
  • GREAT work! You're gorgeous!!!
  • I did 100oz of water at least, and 90 min of cardio today :)
  • I catch myself doing this as well, but then I remember. I remember how I wasn't really ready for a long time, and I don't even really know what changed for me to make me successful this time. I think back to a few months before I started this journey. My tiny sister (less than half my weight and about 6 inches shorter than…
  • Hi Lisa I'm in a similar boat. No twins for me, but I have a 2 year old boy, and an 8 month old girl. I run a licensed childcare center from my home so I am working 50+ hours per week. You're right about having to make time. I try to get up at 5:30am to do my workouts before the kids get up and my daycare opens. I also try…
  • You are doing AMAZING!! You look awesome!
  • Good job keeping in touch with your body! Since you are feeling those symptoms, then why not have some more calories? Try it and see what works for you, or you could try the zig-zag thing and do one day at 1200 and one day eating your exercise cals. Play with it a little. Everyone is unique and responds to things…
