  • Before I go injured and then sick, I did a lot of weight lifting, cardio and Pilates. The Pilates were what pushed me over the edge for better abs. My lower belly tucked in and my waist was more defined. Once upon a time I was 214# w/ 18% body fat. I don't even want to know what my BF is right now. I am back in the gym,…
  • You can definitely SEE a difference!!! I know it is hard, but keep up the good work! I have looked at those types of programs and 5 years ago I would've done one. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Autoimmune/Inflammatory Arthritis last year, after being sick for nearly 4 years. I miss being able to work out as intensely…
  • I use Organic Coconut oil with a pinch of sea salt en lieu of salted butter. For me, it tastes like the real thing. I also use I can't believe it's not butter spray . . . not often, but it helps. A bottle lasts my hubby and I about a year. I keep butter in the house, but a box of 4 sticks lasts us well over 4 months.
  • That is AWESOME!!!
  • One of my first symptoms of my autoimmune condition was weight GAIN! In 2009, I was training for the Breast Cancer 3 Day, walking 35 to 40 miles a week (not counting the 15 mile days every other week) . . . If I went to the gym and tried to work out like I used to (In my early twenties I was a gym rat and could easily put…
  • You are a true inspiration!
  • Once you love gorgonzola, try a little blue cheese crumbled! I love these strongly flavored cheese because a little goes a long way = fewer calories for the same satisfaction!
  • I use balsamic vinegar (regular or white) and I add fruit to my salad for extra flavor!
  • Thank you for reminding me about the book Body for Life for Women by Pamela M. Peeke, M.D. I have it! It's sitting on the bottom shelf of my nightstand! Very insightful book!
  • Way to go!!! I'm hoping to go shopping in my closet by June!!!
  • You can do it and you are such an inspiration! ~Danielle
  • I have the day off, but my appt is at 11am. Enough time for a nap before school is out. Nope, never been preggers . . . I'll look into the local anesthetic . . . can't hurt to ask. My doctor's not concerned about it being terribly uncomfortable for me, compared to other things I've had done (kidney removed, gallbladder…
  • My doctor did tell me that part. She also told me to have someone drive me. For the simple reason that, as I have not ever been pregnant, there is a greater risk of dizziness for the first hour or so after insertion. So, I have a wonderful friend taking me to and from!
  • I may have to try that!!!! Thanks for the tip!
  • I need to look into this! Never heard of it, but now I'm salivating at the thought of a rare tuna steak w/ grilled veggies!!!! May have to get the tuna fix via sushi today . . . YUM!
  • Not to mention, I just got an email from fitness magazine on how to include toning muscle as well as cardio benefits of certain positions . . . It was fun to read . . . haven't really put it into play . . . lol Makes nookie even more fun and making out for an hour before hand . . . might make you feel younger! teehee ;)
  • Way to go!!! I am getting Mirena next week . . . I am nervous and excited . . . . Nervous: because it's something new and different for me. Excited: One less pill to take everyday, lower hormones. Any tips, etc?
  • I've been on Yasmin for 6 years. I take it continuously, so as not to have a "period", but do take a break 2 or three times a year, to prevent breakthrough bleeding. I have never had a problem with it. I am a chronic migraine sufferer and usually get at least one headache during those three days off of it, not w/ Yasmin.…
  • Keep up the awesome work canadagirl!!!!
  • Sounds like a great idea! I do this at restaurants right away, to save myself in advance. Or I'll order an appetizer (share it) and have a side of the vegetable of the day . . . . It is a slippery slope if you make continual excuses. However, if you're exercising heavily (burning 800+ calories in cardio and weight training…
  • Condoms are not nearly as effective at hormonal contraceptives. You need to speak to your doctor and have your concerns addressed. I've been on oral contraception for ~ 18 years (minus 18 months when I was on Depo-Provera). At the end of this month, I'm having an IUD placed. Lower hormones, no pills to take and higher…
  • From what I've read in fitness magazines and on health websites. . . . Coffee contains anti-oxidants, caffeine (a stimulant, which suppresses appetite and increases energy) Downside: is a GI irritant (don't have your vitamins w/ it, they'll be sped through and may not be fully absorbed; for some can cause cramping,…
  • Maintain the caloric goal , versus the maintenance caloric goal, during your healing time. Express your concerns to your surgeon. Explain that you've worked SO hard, but you are dedicated to a speedy recovery as well. You may not be able to exercise the way you want, but you need to allow your body time to heal itself. Do…
  • I haven't seen one, but sounds like your on a good start! I'd love to be able to do a Century Ride . . . .
  • Let me know when you find a solution! I've yet to find anything . . . Drink lots of water it will help your skin stay pliable during the process!!!
  • Target has their own brand that works just as well and are much less expensive! For me, it helped w/ the initial nausea that I would get, but then . . . the rest of the components of milk products kicked in and I was miserable . . . Good luck & feel better!!!
  • A few years back, I thought I was lactose intolerant. When I eliminated dairy from my diet, I still had issues. FInally, I went to my doctor, who referred me right away to a gastroenterologist. Through a series of elimination (Gastroscopy, colonoscopy, blood tests, etc), they diagnosed me w/ IBS. WHich basically means,…
  • We also have a Wii! I love it, but don't have any fitness games. I get my butt off the couch with all of the sports games, unlike my hubbie who keeps it there! I really enjoy Bowling & DecaSports!
  • Way to go! You'll be in those skinny jeans in no time! For me the price tag would be an inspiration to wear them! lol I hate spending money on myself! My favorite dress cost $8 (down from $88!); I'm a huge bargain shopper!
