I do. It has calories and carbs. Even though it is an extremely small amount, I take insulin based on the carbs I eat. I need to be as accurate as possible.

A many years ago I had the GM of a local radio station tell me that it doesn't matter how good I was. I wouldn't get anywhere because of my age and weight. I let that get in my head for too long.

Transitioned from Type 2 to Type 1. Do a low carb diet because I base my insulin on what I eat. With my sliding scale I was taking up to 30u insulin with each meal. Now I am usually taking 10 or less. My A1c is down to 5.9 and I am losing weight. I am not doing Atkins. Atkins requires you to remove the fiber from the carb…

Try using parchment paper instead of spraying baking sheet. The cheese comes right off.

I've done this without the lemon juice and stevia. Can't do stevia. I was still delicious. Will try adding the lemon juice next time. :)

B) I am the lead singer in a country/classic rock band. The guys in the band are fine with the way I look. However, I am not. We are just starting to perform out and I don't want my weight to effect us getting a gig. I also need to lose the weight for me. I am diabetic and enjoy not taking as much insulin as i used to. I…

Yes ... but have noticed that sometimes they can be wrong too.

That is a problem. You just have to look at all the entries and find the one that is accurate. If there are none, you can enter your own or edit incorrect ones. I try to use the information on the food package or a restaurant website to stay as accurate as possible. If I just can find it, I choose the one that has, for me,…

I love WW .... however, I am diabetic. My diet was changed and now I take insulin based on the number of carbs I eat. I didn't want to take large doses of insulin anymore so I dropped WW and joined MFP. I am just as successful here as I was with WW. The only difference is my blood sugars are much better and my doctor is…

Pour yourself what you think is one service of cereal and then using a scale, pour the amount stated as a serving. You will over estimate everytime. Same goes if eating 2oz of lunchmeat vs what you think is 2oz.

I went to Biketoberfest a couple years ago. I much prefer the Leesburg Bikefest in April.

Getting back to eating what I should be eating. And making sure that I record it on here. I find if I don't record it, I don't do as well as I could.

I make 3 quarts of iced tea every other day. I used Dasani, Mio, Crystal Light and the Kool Aid liquids to lightly flavor my tea. I only have a few flavors I like. You have to experiment with the flavors and find the one you like best.

I try to limit the use of AS. The more AS I use, the worse my neuropathy seems to be. Now drink my ice tea plain and my coffee with cream only. Still using a little (1/2 packet or less) in iced coffee & hot tea. Mostly drink iced tea & water.

I had to switch to carb counting in May due to my diabetes. I have a tighter control on my blood sugars since than and I am down 26lbs. I have found that I don't want to take large doses of insulin so I don't eat foods high is carbs. That being said, there are days you just have to have something high in carbs. I love…

If you have a Jimmy John's near you, you can get any of their sandwich as an unwich (lettuce wrap). I usually get it with extra tomato. And the iceberg lettuce is nice and crunchy.

In May I had to change the way I monitor my diabetes. I used to take my insulin based on what my blood sugar was at the time of my meal. I was testing my blood surgar 3 times a day. Then, in May, my doctor told me to try and count carbs and base my insulin intake on what I eat. Also, I was prescribed a continuous glucose…

I was listening to Good Morning America the other day. A new study showed that low carb/high fat dieters lost more weight and were healthier than low fat dieters. Has anyone else heard or seen the report?

Hello ... I'm Paula. I live in Davie, FL. I have a 2005 Honda VTX 1300. Have been riding since 2006. My husband and I belong to a motorcycle club and we raise money for a local children's hospital. I am a nurse and also own an entertainment business. Enjoy the fact that we get round year riding for the most part. The…

Not necessarily doing Atkins, but due to trying to control my blood sugars and not wanting to take a lot of insulin anymore, I have drastically cut down on the carbs I eat.

I am Type 2. However, thanks to going into Diabetic Ketoacidosis a couple of years ago, my pancreas no longer produces insulin. I have been on a sliding scale of insulin up until 2 weeks ago. I now monitor my blood sugar but take insulin for the number of carbs I eat. Example .. if my meal is 50g carb, I take 25u of…

Hi!! I have been diabetic since 2003. I progressed from diet controlled to Metformin. However, due to severe sensitivity to Sulfa drugs, could not tolerate it. So then I was placed on Actos. Did relatively well, but then they added Lantus. I joined Weight Watchers and lost about 25lbs and was able to get off both. In 2011,…

Have been performing solo since 2000. Have been working on putting a band together for just over 2 years. Yes, I said 2 years. Problem is, we get someone that wants to play. Then, they decide they don't like the music or they move or have another excuse. Just recently found a great drummer and rhythm guitar player. Things…

Since you don't know me, I won't take offense to what you have to say. FYI ... I am losing weight with modifications and exercise. I am taking GC to assist .... ASSIST .... in my efforts. Not everyone is able to lose weight the same way. Does anyone take B12? That's a supplement. You take what you need to take to help. No…

Hopefully this will help.... I am currently taking Garcinia Cambogia. I am not taking it for all the hyped up stories of drastic weight loss. What I have found though, is that while I have had some weight loss (I am modifying diet and increasing exercise), it seems to help with cravings. I no longer crave food in between…
