I think today is the first day my sugar is lower than what is allowed by MFP. Will keep at it and post back my progress (or lack thereof) in 3 weeks. Showed this to a few folks at work and seems everyone has the same reaction. Its like a light bulb goes off in your head.. like wow he is onto something... :drinker:

If you hate veggies then find other high fiber options.

See if you can exchange that HRM for another one or a different brand if it is a cheapo. If your reletively new at running your probably not able to burn 600 calories in 30 min. If your heart rate it at 200 bpm I would slow down some, sounds like your pushing way too hard or you have a bad HRM.

Is it a stairmaster ??

Watch this video, I found it yesterday and have alredy posted it on some other threads. Very interesting and worth the time to watch it. Sugar: The Bitter Truth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM

Dont worry about what "they say". Your doing a great job, and your going down the right path. Stick with your healthy eating and excersize and you will meet your goals. The most important thing is how YOU feel and if YOU like how you look in the mirror. Not what anyone else says. And for what its worth... You look…

I'm not posting this thread to open the debate over is fruit sugar as bad as other sugar. The video discusses sugars in the diet in general and how they have been affecting our health. Personally, I will do my best to stay away from sugar in general. That includes the peanutbutter cups and muffins as well as the fruit.

This is a total eye opener for me. My wife and I are both going to be re-evaluating what we are eating. I agree with some of the previous posters above about the fruit. I can only speak for the wife and I, but we are taking in too much of it. We had begun by substituting fruit for sweets, which is better than eating all…

This thread prompted me to read that Times article which in turn prompted me to watch this youtube video. WOW !! Is all I can say. I will seriously change my diet to exclude as much sugar as possible. That includes sugars from fruit. Sugar: The Bitter Truth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM

2.0 (MY miles) + 243.91 (Previous TEAM TWO miles) = 245.91 (New TEAM TWO miles)

Great !! Will search for the Team 2 (team lead) and see if I can jump aboard.
-
Any team able to take on a new member ?? I would love to do this, might give me some extra incentive to keep running. I have to warn you I am new to this and wont be logging too many miles at first. Thanks, J

Unsweetened almond milk - hand Down the best. I cant drink regular milk anymore, and when you have a sweet tooth try nesquick powder in your almond milk. Awesome.

If your feeling light headed and weak and cant eat you should go to your doctor or visit an emergency room. They should be able to give you fluids via an IV to stabilize you. Try drinking a shake or something, usually they are easier to get down and keep down than food. Hope you feel better soon.

Get yourself a heart rate monitor. Takes the guess work out of it. I love mine.

Venti Mocha Frappucino with extra whip cream! Thats why I'm Fat.... :blushing:

I'm right there with you. It's sad when I see some of these young beautiful girls and what they are doing to themselves. I have a daughter and dread the thought of her doing the same things. If you make any comments, they violently shoot you down and belittle your comments. I stay out of those threads now. Mind my own…

I ended up in the emergency room before finally putting myself in gear. That ambulance trip got me to quit smoking and start eating right. Dont wait til your terminally ill before you start doing the right thing. Dont get skinny, get healthy!

I have seen some very thin and young people here that feel as though they need to lose weight. I don't criticize them, but I don't think folks should be congratulating them for starving themselves. Eating disorders are dangerous and a serious problem. Be sure to read what a person has done before responding with a "Way to…

In my opinion do whatever you feel would be easier for you. Just get up and start doing something. Then when you start feeling better and more energetic do both. I happened to start with cardio (walking/running/bike riding), I hope to hit the weights soon. Good luck!

I truly hope your mom makes a full recovery, she's in our prayers. I had a scare back in November and basically jump started my healthy in 2011 campaign. My cholesterol was through the roof (genetic-runs in my family), but with my new diet, exercise and doctor prescribed LOVASA (fish oil) I have dropped my cholesterol to…

AWESOME !! Truly inspiring. Keep it up.

It's water weight that you are seeing. When you work out your muscles need to recover and they hold onto water. (That is my non technical explanation) Your actually allowed to go over your calories by the amount your burning in exercise. Keep your chin up and keep at it. In a few weeks you'll be amazed at your progress.

That's Fantastic News! Congratulations, keep up the great work.

Anyone remember "The Great Space Coaster"?

I quit February 28th 2011. I used carrots, gum, and water. When I got really strong urges I would take a walk, or go up the stairs at work. I figured that would get me away from my desk similar to my old smoke breaks. After a while I would rather not go instead of huffing and puffing cimbing stairs. :) Stick to it, no…
