3 months 17 days
It's been a little over three months smoke free now and I've put on about 10 pounds :( going to get back on the food tracking and eating in moderation diet and hopefully by the time this whole Corona virus thing blows over, I'll be closer to my goal weight and smoke free.

One week down! Any others out there who just past the one week mark?
Hi everyone, It's officially been one week as a non smoker again for me. (I've tried to quit and failed multiple times in the past) I hope to make myself a non smoker for good this time. I found the first three days to be the most difficult so far. I have gone cold turkey since New Years eve. I was seriously in a crappy…

I Run, I Ride, I Win !!
I went for a run today without my ipod. I have a race this Sunday that does not allow headphones. So I felt I needed a way to keep my tempo, and kept repeating I Run, I Ride, I Win whenever I needed some motivation. If any of you repeat similar motivational phrases while you run or bike, let me hear em !

Used a bad day as motivation !
I had a bad day, very angry and disappointed. I decided this afternoon while at work that the best way to burn off some of my anger would be to run when I got home. I completed 8.1 miles tonight in 1 hour and 18 minutes. My furthest distance and best time EVER !! 9.43 min/mile !! Take that #@!$%$#%#$% And now I'm not angry…

Am I a narcissist ?
According to Wikipedia the definition of "narcissism" often means egoism, vanity, conceit, or simple selfishness. Why is it that when you tell those closest to you what you have been doing and working so hard at they cant just give you a simple "Way to go" or a "Congrats" ? This story begins back on February of 2011. I…

Elbow Pain .... HELP
I need some help from my fellow MFP weight lifting friends. I had begun working out at the gym back in June and incorporated weight lifting for strength training. About a month ago while performing dumbbell curls my left elbow began to experience a slight pain. I worked through it and it seemed to go away, but the next…

How should I celebrate ?
I am coming upon my 1 year anniversary of quitting smoking. I want to do something special to celebrate this victory, but haven't a clue. Any ex-smokers out there do anything special upon reaching this milestone?

I'm a hypocrite
Yesterday I went out with my family. They noticed I lost weight, and aside from my brother everyone had only negative things to say. 1: I am too skinny now 2: I am scrawny on top 3: I am trying to push my new "fad dieting" onto them - because I was telling them I am trying to eliminate sugar as much as possible because of…

Canned Salmon

Soggy fingers ??
This is going to be a really strange post.... Could be a coincidence, but ever since I have started my calorie counting and drinking plenty of water, my fingers feel weird. Its the way that your fingers feel after swimming for a while or taking a long bath. You know when you get out of the water and they are all wrinkly…

Smart Phones
OK, totally unrelated to weight loss...... :) I have grown to love this community of like minded folks and value your opinions. I love my Blackberry, I have no problems with it but have to admit I am a bit of a gadget hound. Thinking of upgrading to another Blackberry or another smartphone altogether. For those of you that…

Your biggest meal of the day ?
I have noticed that I have been making dinner my biggest meal of the day. Normally I get home and still have 800-900 calories remaining. So I end up using them up for dinner and snacks. I am wondering if it would be better to use up more of those calories before I get home, so it forces me to have a smaller dinner and less…

Meat Glue ??
This post is sort of "off on a tangent" but I thought it was worth sharing. A friend of mine had forwarded me a link to an article that discusses how some butchers are making meat scraps go farther than before. They sort of glue them together and then sell them to restaurants and possibly directly to unsuspecting…

Low Calorie snacks to munch on
I am new to MFP, and this is my first attempt at losing some weight. I have about 25 pounds to lose and am adjusting to reading labels and making better food choices. That being said....... I am finding it impossible to find a low calorie snack food for munching on when watching TV. I thought pop corn (air popped, no…
