One week down! Any others out there who just past the one week mark?

Hi everyone, It's officially been one week as a non smoker again for me. (I've tried to quit and failed multiple times in the past) I hope to make myself a non smoker for good this time. I found the first three days to be the most difficult so far. I have gone cold turkey since New Years eve. I was seriously in a crappy mood for the first week, got irritated really easily. Also felt really tired and not motivated for much. I used food, gum, water and naps to overcome cravings and mood swings. If you too have just recently quit, share your past weeks experience. What helps you get over the cravings? Words of advice?

  • Hey there! I quit on Jan 2 cold turkey so it’s been a little over a week for me as well! In the beginning, my cravings were bad and I didn’t want to gain weight from quitting so I picked up running everyday as well as mild strengthening exercises. I totally recommend this app called “Smoke free” it works for me and it’s free! You get to see your progress that makes you want to continue and there are helpful tips and tricks when you have cravings. I definitely recommend that and I would also recommend to do something that makes you not want to smoke- maybe running, swimming, biking?

Running doesn't work for me. I smoke just before I start, then I run 7-10 km, and finish with a cigarette. :( But I wish to quit.
