Fell off the wagon... I can't get motivated to get up and do my Ripped DVD. I haven't seen Jillian since Thursday of last week. And I'm only on Level 1!! I think part of it is that I finally got furniture in my living room and the area feels a little claustrophobic when I think of exercising in it...I HAVE to get over…

You need to go to a running store and have them look at your feet and your gait to help you determine the right style and size, etc. What works as a good shoe for me may not work at all for you, and may actually hurt you MORE because of different bio-mechanics. I use Fleet Feet-they are awesome and I found, on my shoes at…

Oh gosh I sure hope so.... ;-)

So you know all those times when you said "no" to foods you like but know aren't good for you....that was practice for dating. Not that I've been in a position to put this into practice yet, but if you don't want another date because of "ohhh yuck yuck yuck" kissing (and who wants to date a bad kisser???) then say no! ;-)

Just be careful with the microwave. Even after puncturing mine it exploded. I'd only put it in there 5 minutes to soften it before throwing it in the over and "boom." On a side note, when it exploded, all the flesh came out stringy so after I finished it off in the oven, it was VERY easy to get out of the shell. LOL

I use Ovaltene...it has less sugar than Nesquick and Hershey's and I just like the taste better. I only use 1/3-1/2 the recommended serving also. PLUS, the promise of an ice-cold glass of chocolate milk is sometimes the only thing that motivates me to complete my run when my legs and lungs are dying...and I'm not a…

So I'm still in Level one-just finished Day 3-and may I say that I detest the Running Man. I RUN for Pete's sake but this thing HURTS. I think it's because my calves are too tight, but I just can't get the big movements going. Also, I still have not managed to do the side lunges front raises with weights in my hand. I can…

I've had shorter cycles since I started exercising regularly also. 21 days instead of 28 and I had always been regular before. I think it's the exercise. Someone told me to give my body 6 months to adjust. She's a nutritionist, so not a doctor, but still...I figure our bodies will react differently to such changes.…

Oh I know that feeling!!! Pick up some fresh salsa (Safeway has a great one) and a can of black beans...rinse the beans REALLY WELL, add 2 tablespoons of salsa and DEVOUR! At least that's how I dealt with my Mexican food craving...

Simple....Grill/saute the zuchinni and onions (with some garlic and possibly some tomatoes if you have them) salt and pepper, maybe a bit of dried oregano, toss in the ricotta to warm...toss in with the spinach and you've got a "warm" spinach salad.

New to Ripped in 30. Just started Level 1 yesterday so I completed D2 today. I am planning on doing 6 days of each level. Even if it isn't perfect, I plan to move through. I'm also doing some run/walk cardio 3 days a week because my BIG goal is to run a half-marathon so I want to keep my running base as I'm doing this.…

That is fantastic!! LOL

Also, the crockpot is a life saver when it comes to beans...I just soak them overnight and then throw them in the crockpot on low in the am before work. Cover in about 1 inch of water and they're good to go. You can experiment with different seasonings too. I make a combo of red lentils, green lentils, split peas and mung…

Trying to change too much at once can be a killer! I quit smoking a year ago (almost exactly) and it was SOOO hard!! I know many would probably disagree with me, but I would recommend keeping the soda in your diet (in moderation) until you are good a quit. Feeling TOTALLY deprived will push you quickly back to the…

I also go the Balsamic and EVOO route with some Italian herbs. I like to use fresh basil and some pepper and dried oregano and a squeeze of lemon juice. I put it all in a little blender and it emulsifies it so it seems a little creamy...my kids love it too.

Walking around then hot black tea...my substitute for afternoon coffee. I use a little Stevia so it's sweet and I feel like I'm getting a little treat.

I have noticed since I started running that my core strength and tone has improved incredibly! I can actually tell there are muscles under there (the fat)!! And yes, it does work the legs-quads, glutes, etc.

Love it!! Now off to live it!

Great...now I'm craving asparagus. Good thing I'm going shopping this weekend! :)

I bought "the Greek Gods" honey flavored last weekend at Fry's (Kroger) and it was VERY tasty. I also like the Chobani.

That is an amazing and inspirational blog post! Worth every second to read it through! Congratulations

I just went and checked...I thought I was BARELY in over rather than obese (which is where I started) BUT I'm in about the middle of over!!! You're right! It feels fantastic! Thanks for sharing so more of us could feel that boost! ;-)

Well, I did a "long run" one Saturday (4 miles took an hour) and learned the hard way that chicken and cheese on sourdough is NOT a good pre-run meal! ;-) I run in the evenings during the week so I will eat my regular dinner then run about 1.5 hours later. I drink milk with a little ovaltene in it afterward. The coldness…

OMG! That made me LOL

I know someone who just had one last week. He said for about 1-4 minutes it feels like you absolutely cannot get oxygen and it's kind of scary. I think it's better if you know what to expect so you don't panic. Otherwise, he was really tired afterward but he said it wasn't too bad. Part of his tiredness may have had more…

I keep the little Dove Dark Promises also and when the urge hits can usually savor just one and be satisfied. Also, I eat 10 grain cereal or oatmeal for breakfast most mornings and when I went through a really bad stretch of cravings I added about 6-7 semi-sweet chocolate chips to my hot cereal and stirred it in-it was…

I'm pretty sure that I'm living proof of that sad, sad fact! Thank goodness I've opened my eyes and reversed the trend...so sad to have to log a can of soda in my food log ;-)

Way to go!! I love it when the "I don't want to work out" becomes the "best workout ever"!!!

Check out the muscle definition on the calf under the tat!! Way to go :)

I second and third the "go to a specialty shoe store and get the correct shoes" advice. I can't tell you how much it helped my shins and knees when I did this. I love the Shoe People as I call them. I also go to Fleet Feet.
