We all started somewhere and I’m happy for you that you want to inprove your help! Small changes add up really fast, much faster than we think! I started my journey at 250 pounds and the first few months I could get away with baby step easily and still see some changes fast, I’m sure it can be the same for you. As many…

I’m not a huge fan of most cooked (or boiled/steamed) veggies to be honest. I like them cook to a very specific « doneness » but there’s way i found to work around that. Asparagus for example, not the biggest of them cooked but you can do a shave asparagus salad in about 10 min and i could eat it all day long. I just cut…

Here are some of my favorite: Stir fry: use less oil and load up on veggies. I like bell peppers, mushroom, cabbage (which add so much volume for very little calories), bean sprouts, celery... shrimp, chicken or porc and a carb like pasta or rice. To had a « sauce », beef broth & sou sauce thickened with cornstarch and all…

I had tortellini soup: chicken broth, carrot, celery, spinach, peas and tortellini. I usually sprinkle parmesan once it’s done but I was out of it.

Ocernight oatmeal is pretty low, made with large flake oats (it takes longer to diggest for 130 cal) unsweetened plant base milk (like almond milk) (20 cal) and greek yogurt (70 cal). I like mine with berries (about 50 cal) and maple syrop (another 50 cal) , but you could use flavored greek yogurt and skip the syrop. A…

Apple sauce can replace 90% of the oil called for in muffin and quick bread recipes and you can’t taste it at all. Plain greek yogurt instead of sour cream is also a great switch!

Butterfly chicken, with lemon and wine sauce, carrot and rutabagas mash and brown rice. Butterfly chicken (or spatchcock) is the #1 trick to make whole chicken juicy and tender everytime. It you never tried it, invest in a good pair of kitchen cisors and try it, you’ll never go back I promise!

I made this potato and lentil salad so many times, I love it! https://smittenkitchen.com/2014/01/warm-lentil-and-potato-salad/ If you eat dairy, my favorite soup, for about 300-400 calories is tortellini soup: sauté carrot, celery, onion or whatever veggie you fancy. Add broth (2 cups per serving) and simmer for a few…
