Cookieman, I think you should read some books on Intermittent Fasting. Fasting is not dangerous if its done correctly and safely. Read what Dr Michael Mosley has to say about the 5;2 diet where you fast for 5 days and eat for 2. This leads to very effective weight loss. Or you could try alternate days fasting ie every…

You are an incredibly BRAVE woman!! Well done, I am in awe !! BEST OF LUCK!!!

Well I can answer the second question anyway. I have just reached maintenance this week, and for me the loss occured very much in fits and starts, say 3 weeks no loss then a sudden 3lb loss. If I relied on the scales I would have given up may times, but I was also measuring inches and that kept me motivated. The loss was…

Yes thats right , about one inch per month......

Hi there, I have been loosing since 1st Feb last. I have been on the 5;2 sticking to 450 cals a day twice a week. The other 5 days I try to eat plenty of healthy fats and very low carb/ moderate protein. But I wouldnt say Im in ketosis yet, more like low carb...but then the 5;2 is supposed to put us into ketosis so I dont…

Well since start of feb I have lost 6 inches from my waist ie 36 to 30ins, and from the hips 43ins approx to 37ins ie 6 inches. I have been measuring very regularly on the 5;2 so this is accurate. say 1 inch per month from each place. It should take 8 or 9 months. Good luck!!

Gosh you sound like you are super slim!! I am also 5ft 4ins, is that your height?? I have just reached within the healthy BMI range at 67 kgs. I thought that was not too bad, but Im thinking now compared to you I must be super fat!! Do you know your BMI? I was thinking that I would like to be around 64kgs as a final goal…

Thats right , the only way to kick start weight loss when on a plateau is to STOP doing what you are doing and then go back to it later. The body adjusts to our weight loss efforts after months of calorie restriction, and if we continue doing what we do ,without results, thats the first sign of madness!! Ha!

My suggestion is to STOP dieting for at least one week or two. Just eat at maintenance, say 2000 cals a day and give your body a break. Then after this you will be psychologically and physically ready to kick start your weight loss again. This method worked for me recently. I had stopped loosing anything for several weeks,…

HEY one little tip that seems to work.....have a week or two off!! STOP dieting for a couple of weeks, but but be mildly aware of staying under say 2000 cals. Then return to weight loss with renewed vigor. Your body needs a break, and then return with a cunning plan. This is how we break out of a plateau. OR you could keep…

Well i agree with most of the above, but I also think that we need to do something different now and again for continuous weight loss. By all means check your calories, but your body has adjusted to your routine so you need to jolt it back into weight loss mode. THINK carefully about this....you could try adding a fast…

Im shocked by the negative comments that poster had to endure. Actually what she asked was a sensible question. Its known that reasonable quantities of sweet fruits cause an immediate insulin rush, and that the excess sugar in the fruit will be stored almost straight away as triglycerides in our fat stores, instead of…
