I have a follow up question too by the way. Does that mean my thigh gap is permanent as well? Just wondering.

Ok, thanks :) Now that you mention body image issues, you may be right. And now that I think about it, maybe it's from all the bullying I received in high school and trade school when I was very overweight. I'll try to keep a more positive mindset.

Ok, well thanks for your responses you guys. I guess (from what you replied) this is something I can't change. And @shadow2soul there's a few reasons I want smaller hips. One is because sometimes it's hard to fit in skinny jeans which is probably because they're made for girls with small hips but I like skinny jeans so…

Lol...I don't know. I'll be honest. When I'm on college campus, I often get jealous of the female students who have smaller hips than me...
-
@tcunbeliever Broad pelvis? Ok then. I guess there's all something we hate about yourself. I'll be honest. I'd do anything to have smaller hips :(

@shadow2soul I've been having it tested 2 ways. One is those things you hold at the gym. Another is Dexa scan that are done at hospitals. If not 14%, I'm pretty sure it's at least under 20% for sure. I don't know how low body fat has to be for light abs, veins sticking out on all limbs, and a flat stomach. But either way,…

Different reasons. Some people just like to eat more nutritious or like to try new things or have trouble finding out what to do with their almost overripe bananas, etc. I personally think it tastes better than regular ice cream (and I'm getting lots of potassium and other nutrients at the same time, along with not letting…

LOL next time a telemarketer calls, you should prank/scare them. That's what I do. *telemarketer - "Hello ma'am, would you be interested in the- *receiver - "Hey John, you still owe me 10 years of child support! Where the hell are ya? I knew I should've gone to that abortion clinic. Dammit John, no wonder your mother…

Hmm. I'd say it's between kale and seaweed. Kale because of the higher protein and other nutrients along with low-calorie according to research and reviews. And seaweed because of what I've learned from the Thai people at this buddhist temple I meditate at. Apparently seaweed is very popular in their home country and their…

My mom tried low-carb once and ended up with high cholesterol... Ever since she stopped she's been healthier.
-
Agreed. I used to have the STRONGEST cravings for processed sweets, junk, etc. Over time I built up more willpower to go easier on them and eventually slowly but surely switch to natural sweets and healthier foods. Now I find regular sweets, junk food, etc. disgusting and wouldn't touch them with a ten foot poll. As my…

I was able to break mine and have recipes for dessert alternatives.

That's why it's done after a bulk. "Bulk and cut" to create lean. tata -leaves-
-
Yes you can. Just eat between your BMR and TDEE. It's called a "cut".

It IS a hassle. Too much government, too much application, potential denial, probably going to the welfare office to get a bunch of crap done. The good thing is, food banks come from people and companies who willingly donate. Food stamps...not so much. I'd rather take donations, not a % of someone's paycheck. I don't want…

Agreed. I once ate less than 1200 calories when trying to lose weight. But that's when I had an eating disorder. It became easier when I just did resistance training and ate more. My friend lost weight on 1200 calories per day but now she's skinny-fat and is currently working on fixing that.

I eat the carbs before workout for energy. Then again, quinoa has both protein and carbs (is on my post-workout list if you didn't pay attention lol).
-
Tell that to the professional bodybuilders. But who cares. Its working for me.
-
I do. It has done more good than bad. After resistance training I'll either eat canned tuna, cottage cheese, quinoa, canned sardines, a protein bar, or eggs.
-
Grains are good for you. I agree with the sugar part (unless fruit) but I disagree with the cutting out grains. I eat quinoa or brown rice on almost a daily basis and it has helped me a massive amount.
-
You missed it because you made it a diet, not a lifestyle change. I wore off of it because I didn't make it a diet. Pizza is now disgusting to me.

Was sharing an apartment with my now ex. He got abusive and kicked me out (my fault for dating and moving in with him). I stayed in a hotel for a while but it was too pricey and far from college (I had to take 4 buses to reach campus) so I looked around for more apartments and they all had rent rules (you have to make 2-3x…

So I'm supposed to lift weights and not repair my muscle tissue after? The body needs nutrients especially post-activity. That's how I lost weight and became fit in the first place. protein after a workout

I live alone in a 2 bedroom apartment. Churches are there to help. They help me all the time. I rarely grocery shop. I can't afford it at the moment (I refuse to go on food stamps though because it's too much of a hassle) and they understand. I go to 10 different food banks in my area. They're all supportive (and aware…

It's not your PCOS. I've had Depression, been on multiple medications, been on birth control, went through several surgeries (including a tubal ligation AND hysterectomy), and hypothyroidism runs in my family (diabetes runs in my dad's side). I would do cardio one hour 5 days per week and wondered why I wasn't losing…

I read everything. She said she doesn't receive food stamps. A food bank however is something churches operate. There are churches everywhere. All she needs to do is ask around or call local churches and see if they hold food banks then she can go and receive food.
-
Two words Food Banks. I'm in a financial situation as well (in college, working, managing a 2 bedroom apartment on my own, no car yet, no food stamps etc.) but the local food banks have helped greatly. Quite a few carry healthy/fresh foods along with the non perishables. I suggest you go to any local food banks. They're…

I maintain at 124 lb with around 2000-2100 calories per day. Am 5'6. Honestly, I couldn't survive on 1200 calories per day. I'd die lol...
