  • What's the difference between running and jogging? For me it is the same thing, but I am not a Native speaker.
  • Hello! Good luck on your weight loss and exercising! I started the C25K just today. The first jogging minutes were ok but by the end of it my thigh muscles were sore! Also uphill is -really- difficult! I will go jogging on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. What are your first impressions about your running? (Edited: running…
  • I really hope so! I feel next time I go jogging it will be easier already!
  • I live on campus, and of course, for my first time jogging, I run into someone I know! I think this will happen a lot. I invested in a new running jacket that hides all the jiggly parts (and also protects me from the cold lol). I hope it doesn't get hot too soon :). Seriously nice fitting clothes really help! Thank you for…
  • Hello! I don't have any advice, I read this very interesting thread though: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/3047-700-calories-a-day-and-not-losing It scared me into not eating under 1500 kcal a day lol. But it also explains how to get your metabolism back. Good luck :)
  • As you suggested, I bought a scale, I don't think I would be able to count calories otherwise. It takes a long time to weigh everything and I was surprised that calories pile up so quickly! I think I read in another thread you are doing C25k? I will start today! (If i dare! ;))

  • I am losing weight for myself (to feel better overall), but the fact that I am going to see my family soon makes me want to start now rather than later. Thank you for the link, I read through it, very informative!

  • Thank you everyone for your answers! It's not like I don't know I shouldn't care, but it really helps to hear it from you. I think it's great that you all go out there and run, regardless of what other people might (or might not!) think. I think my problem has more to do with my self-confidence than my weight. I am very…
  • Thank you for your input. My BMR is actually around 1500 kcal. So my goal will be 1500 kcal + exercise calories. Do you know if the calorie-count by the machines at the gym (stepper) is accurate? For swimming I will have to figure it out somehow...

  • Very inspirational! Not an enormous difference in lbs but a BIG difference in the pictures :) so toned! I hope it will work the same for me. ;) Thank you for sharing!
  • Hello! I'm 23, also a student. I am new to the website and to the weight-loss thing. I'll try to lose weight by exercising and by not eating too much... or too little! I live on campus and try to go home for lunch. I always have soup in the fridge that I can heat in 3 min. I don't know if it would work for you though.
  • I read the "sticky-posts". They say a BMR of 1200 kcal is an average and is different for every person. According to calculators my BMR should be 1200kcal , I am afraid it is more than that and that I will ruin my metabolism by only eating 1200 kcal...
