Oh, I know. Is there someone in your neighborhood that you could workout with? I found that I feel less isolated when I run once or twice a week with a women who lives down the street. I think I hold her back during the workout, but we both enjoy the comraderie.

I've kinda been in this boat. But my kids are little (6 and 3) so it's easy for me to just turn off the TV, put the remote way up high, and make them do something else. Usually after 5 minutes of whining they are off playing, creating, and having a blast. My DH is a bit of a different story. I run, he walks, so it's kind…

Sounds like a crazy run. The dog growling thing has happened to me a few times, thankfully I run with dog mace. I hope you next few runs are calmer.

Yeah, whipped cream is too rich for me that early in the am. I do make up for it later in the morning with whipped cream in my coffee. AND I give myself extra chocolate chips on my waffle.

Seriously, for birthday breakfasts, we celebrate in my house! I usually toast some whole wheat waffles, top with heated up frozen cherries, sprinkle on cinnamon, and top with some dark chocolate chips. Totally decadent. For the kids and the hubby, I usually top with some whipped cream.

Ok... so a few ideas for you: 1) Eat a smaller portion of the real cake 2) Cook yourself Thin has a few cake recipes that use grated veggies and ground nuts to replace some of the unhealthier ingredients, also I think they tend to use a meringue frosting instead of buttercream on a lot of the cakes. I've made a few. I like…

Oh, and I meant to say that I also have osteoarthritis in my toes as well, and the orthotics have relieved that pain, too. I'm wondering if you have a touch of that as well as PF.
-
I ended up paying for mine out of pocket as well, as mine weren't covered either. It was worth every penny I paid. I did what you did with the premade ones, and they didn't help a bit, but the custom ones are amazing. I am pain free now. You might want to ask your pod. if it's worth you saving up for it.

Usually the count is between 300-500 calories a day for breastfeeding, depending upon how often your little one is feeding and whether or not you are supplementing with formula or solids. Usually medical advice is to not try to lose weight (especially after surgery like a C-section) until your body has healed a bit, and…

I agree that 30DS is great when you are short on time. I did that and C25K on alternating days. Are you breastfeeding your son? If you are, make sure you don't try to lose weight too quickly, as that might affect your milk supply. I think La Leche League recommends losing 1 lb a week to make sure your supply stays up. It…

Have you been fitted for custom orthotics? That is the only thing that has worked for me with PF. When I wear the orthotics, I'm pain free. I can even go for a day or two now and again and wear different shoes without pain, but mainly I live in my custom orthotics. They are the best. I started feeling better with in a week…

bump for future baking

I love Larabars! I love the tropical fruit tart one. Can't get enough of them!

Never happened to me, and I have two joggers. I have a single Schwin jogger and a double jogger that I can't remember the brand, but it's not a Baby Trend. Is yours a fixed wheel or a swivel wheel? How old is your son? How much does he weigh? Does your tire have a front wheel brake/lock? I'm wondering if your brake is…

bumping because I've been thinking about getting a pressure cooker for years. I love my crockpot, but would love a fast way to cook beans and soups (esp. on the days I forget to load the crockpot in the am).

WHY did you have to pick the CRAZIEST room in our house.... I'm up for it, but that will have to wait for tomorrow.... I am up for dining room legs, though. Bring it on!

Once the sink is cleaned, I'm going to add to the challenge.... bathroom baseboards. We were talking at work the other day, and someone mentioned that dirty bathroom baseboards freak her out. I haven't cleaned mine in a LONG time. That is definitely on my list for today......... once I get home from work, that is.........

Too funny!

For short runs I have a SPI belt (and I added a Nathan's pocket)... I carry my phone, house key, ID, and dog mace (lots of crazy dogs in my neighborhood). For long runs, I have a Nathan belt with water bottles so I carry the above plus water.

I haven't read the other answers, but here's my response.... 1) Look at it as a series of choices. Reward yourself for the good choices. 2) I can control what I eat and how I workout. I cannot control specifically the number on the scale. I can choose to go workout, I can choose to eat a bit healthier. Some weeks it shows…

I agree with PP... why avoid snacking? Just set yourself up for success... larabars, nuts, dried fruit, air popped popcorn, grapes, trail mix, cheese sticks, etc. If I had to go from lunch at 11:30 to dinner at 7:00 without snacking, I'd probably eat one of my own children. I try to snack healthy. Some days are more…

If you truly don't care.. then wait for her to approach you and tell her you don't care. I wouldn't go out of my way to give her the "good to go." Questions: if he was removed from his ministry position upon your divorce, would dating a member of the church also be cause for concern among his congregation? Is she still a…

bump for being curious.... Invite code, anyone?

Celebrating here.... but NOT strictly. I eat way more than my fair share of haroset (and whole wheat matzo), and homemade stock with matzoball soup. YUMMMY!!!

Hi Dewymorning, I am sorry that your boyfriend is having a rough spot. It's tough to watch the ones we care about be upset. For me, I find it best to focus on making ONE good decision, like going for a walk, not eating the cookie, eating more veggies at dinner, etc. Anything to give me a bit of control and success. Make…

I have PF (and osteo arthritis in my toes), and I finally went to the ortho after months of pain and and being unable to walk by the end of the day. She prescribed custom orthotics for me. They are the best ever, worth every penny and more! After one week in them my PF and arthritis felt sooo much better. I wear them all…

HILARIOUS!!!

I love smoothies in the am... I am trying to get better about rotating my greens so I am not eating only spinach in my smoothies. I also add 1/4 cup of raw rolled oats to my smoothies..... I like the fiber and I think it keeps me full way longer..... Usually I blend 1 cup greens, 1 cup water, 1/4 cup oats. Blend, then add…

I second (third) pp advice on taking it slow and getting fitted for the right shoes. You may also be leaning to far forward when you run, putting a strain on your back. Try to be totally upright, as if a string is being pulled out of the top of your head. Running is great, you may wish to look at Couch to 5K (C25K) for an…
