316 sticks of butter here. This is a fun way to visualize it.

Stunning! Congratulations on everything, including the marathon.

Stevia, definitely.

"Do you measure ketones?" I bought Ketostix and tested at first, just to see what it looked like. They are notoriously inaccurate, though. At this point I do not test anymore as I know I'm in ketosis and I'm not worried about it. I would not invest a lot of money in testing after the first month or two. I was deficient in…

Also consider an egg fast to break the stall: http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2014/07/egg-fast.html I've talked to Mellissa a few times, she's wonderful. Haven't needed to do this myself yet but I know others who have. I know when I eat eggs for 2 meals in one day I tend to drop a fair bit the next morning.

If you laugh to yourself when reaching for full fat salad dressing/mayo/sour cream/cream cheese/yogurt while everyone else looks for low fat options.

The only sugar alcohols I eat are some sugar free Werther's hard candies. I don't even log them because 5 of them are only 40 calories and, given my progress, the sugar alcohols in them do not negatively affect me. If you're eating A LOT of sugar free foods that are full of junk, it could be causing the stall. Focus on…

From randomly coming across a post of yours in another thread: This could be why. With keto, you can't really cheat. You replenish the glycogen stores when you eat carbs and it knocks you out of ketosis. Depending on when you are testing and how often you are cheating, the strips would read not in ketosis or trace ketones…

Thank you again everyone! Keto is great - it's been a real life-changer.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Aww thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! I like how crispy the crust gets with very little effort.

Ahh thanks everyone! I really appreciate the insight and info. I figured one of those two would be a good purchase. I'll do a little more research on the difference between the two. Thanks again!

Although they're not reliable for a few reasons, I bought Ketostix just to keep around. I rarely RARELY test at this point. I stay under 18g total carbs 95% of the time but if I eat zucchini and a lot of other veggies one day and end up at 25g total, I -might- test just to see what it looks like. My consistent weight loss…

Thanks! I know there's the FT4 and FT7 and I've compared the two - do you think FT4 is sufficient for basic gym exercises?

In order to make foods "lite" or "low fat" companies have to add a ton of salt in order to improve the flavor for lack of fat/calories.

Since starting keto I've kept my sugar under 10g daily (normally around 5g including both natural and added sugars). It's been easy for me and I feel a whole lot better because of it. Not for everyone, and not everyone needs to worry about sugar, but I'm glad I made the change.

Definitely agree with what baconslave said. Eating all the extra fat affects our hormones. Ironically, I have severe PCOS and eating keto has made my periods significantly lighter than before. I have never craved foods during my TOM so if it were me, I wouldn't cheat, especially because of the keto flu you'll have to go…

I pre-log every day the night before, definitely. I like knowing what I'll eat and that I'll hit my macros and be under my cals.

Probably the sugar spike is affecting you, yes. LCHF is hard to cheat on and feel okay especially the longer you live a ketogenic lifestyle. I went away for a weekend in August after 5 months of keto and ate what I wanted - felt pretty crappy the whole time (sluggish, bloated) and got a wicked flu for a day or two once I…

Haha thanks Dan! And everyone else too! :)

Happy to be friends with anyone living keto. :)

Easiest would be a spinach or spinach-artichoke dip with fresh veggies (broccoli, bell peppers, cucumbers, cauliflower). I was invited to a co-worker's house for Easter this year (I live 800 miles from my family and had no where else to go) and I brought asiago and rosemary stuffed mushrooms. Here is my recipe for it, just…

Well since starting keto I've slept better (cured years of insomnia) and I've felt the endless energy everyone talks about. I have PCOS and my periods have been brutal my whole life; they've been significantly lighter every month since starting. I also just bought a fall jacket in 2-3 sizes smaller than the fall coats I…

Celebrating by taking a day off the gym and re-painting my nails instead haha. :)

Thank you so much everyone! Apologies to my MFP friends who had to read this twice - since there are so many anti-low carb feelings on MFP, I wanted to post my progress in a more public setting, too, for others who may be interested in the lifestyle. Cheers! :)

When I get to my ultimate goal I am getting the thigh tattoo I've wanted for ages. It'll be my first. Otherwise I don't have any short term goals/rewards, just to live as healthy as possible each day which will, in turn, be a reward in itself.

I eat 1400 calories - my ratios are 70/25/5 or 109g/88g/18g. I aim to go over on fat and under on protein and carbs. I usually come in under 18g total carbs daily (sometimes a few more if I have zucchini, in which case I count net instead).

The no energy thing is normal and should last about a week - if you can push through that, your energy will then sky-rocket, I promise. :) Fats to add to meals: butter, olive oil, coconut oil, mayo, avocado, almonds, cheese, bacon, heavy cream. Here's my blog post about what to eat:…

Just added a new recipe using pork rinds to the blog, if anyone is interested. :) http://www.butterisnotacarb.com/tuna-cakes/
