I have that same exact problem! I don't have much more to lose, but i still have something to lose. And when I voice my intent on losing that weight, I get verbally attacked. I just want my body to be in the best shape possible, and i know that i can be in much better shape than I am now. Most people just don't seem to…

i hate my wide-set hips, but i love my upper body and small calves.

i am currently about 125 lbs at 5'7'' and i wear a size 7 comfortably. I have hips like no other! They make buying pants very discouraging.

it definitely sounds like early pregnancy, or something to do with your large intestine. you should definitely see a doctor.

Being under is definitely not enough for me when i know that I consumed such a large amount of calories in one sitting, especially when it was right before I went to sleep for the night. I just can't help but look back and think how much more productive yesterday could have been towards my overall weight loss goal if I had…

I wouldn't advise it. Taking a week off may effect the routine you've had. It may also make it that much harder to start exercising again once that week of rest is up. Maybe just try to lower the amount you exercise for a week to help make sure you stay on track and analyze how your body reacts with the lower level of…

For me, MFP usually runs the numbers low when it comes to logging a workout on the elliptical. I do see different numbers when I use different machines, but I just trust what the machine tells me. 700 calories does seem extensive for a 30 minute workout on the elliptical, even on a high level. I would just use the number…

Wow. That actually makes a lot of since. ok! i'll definitely try both a pilates video and weight training! Thanks!

I'm glad I'm not the only one whose aiming for this. Its not that i NEED to be 115, it's just that i assume that that's about the weight I will be once all my extra stores of fat are taken care of. I have heard that Pilates does wonders, but i can't find a local class that does this during my free time... would you suggest…

Definitely on an empty stomach. When exercising, your body first tries to burn off what you've eaten that day before it starts into your fat stores. Exercising approximately 15 minutes or so after you wake up in the morning and before you eat breakfast is the most effective time of day that you can lose fat. Try drinking a…

My goal weight is 115-118 and I am 5'7''. This is my goal because it is on the low side of the BMI chart for a "healthy" weight for my height and frame size. I want to be lean but not muscular and have that perfect body.

In all honesty, to this day I still feel "fat", even though I only have at most 2-4 lbs to go before I am at my goal. For me, I believe it is more of a mental reflection of myself before i lost the weight. I have always struggled with this and know plenty of others who are going through the same thing. I guess it just…

why eat so much fat calories in comparison to carbohydrates or any other substance?
-
I just interred my measurements on a website that helps calculate body fat percentage and i received a 20.97%.

That is what i was thinking (about the weight training being my best bet). I just don't want to bulk up or gain too many muscles. I still have deposits of fat on my inner thighs and lower stomach and am not sure if weigh training alone would rid me of these trouble spots.

I too am 5'7'' and end goal weight is to be in the 115-118 lb range. I have a small frame and pretty slender naturally. I do think that 115 for a small frame of this height is pushing it, but I am pretty athletic so I think it is achievable.

I was about an inch shorter than I am now. I too stopped growing at a young age. I do think, however, that you are right about my curves. I don't think my hips really developed until my junior year of high school, but even then I weighed less than I do now. If staying at the same weight I am at right now is the best thing…

I was 14 years old and played basketball for my school team. So I was extremely active.

At the moment I feel that i could lose a bit more fat around the mid section and the inner thigh. I do feel a lot better about myself now then i did when i started the weight loss. I just don't feel that I am at my personal best yet.
-
I am not sure what my fat percentage is. And no, I suppose I'm not eating the calories I lose from exercising. I've always been under the impression that as long as I eat around 1200 calories a day, my body wont go into starvation mode.
-
One more question, would strength training also help shrink my inner thighs?
-
Depending on what your target is, as long as you feel satisfied and you don't feel like your body might be in "starvation mode", I think it is fine. Just don't go under 1200 calories a day.

Thank you so much. I've always thought Pilate's looked fun. And I've never tried reverse crunches before, but I do have a yoga ball. I generally go to the gym 2 to 3 times a week and only use the elliptical. I don't have the money for a trainer, but I will definitely give strength training another try.

i'm just looking to lose the pooch and have lean muscles. Thank you for your advice :)

The thing that intimidates me about lifting weights is when i do strength training, I tend to bulk up way more than I'd like. Is there a way to lift weights yet not get bulky?
