  • I'm a teacher. All the treats are placed in the teacher's lounge. Thus...I almost NEVER go into the lounge. If I don't see it/know it's there, I won't take any.
  • I like english muffins with cream cheese or with apple butter......both are much lower cal than PB.
  • Weight fluctuates. I can fluctuate up and down by 5lbs. It doesn't mean I gained 5lbs overnight - I know it's water weight. It's probably the same for you. Don't stress over it. Keep eating right and exercising and the weight will come off.
  • Sort of....but not really. My boyfriend is super thin (5'8" and 139 - he weighs less than me!); he can eat whatever the heck he wants because he's a distance runner and bicyclist and needs to consume about 3300 cals a day to MAINTAIN. So in that way it's hard to live with him cause he can eat whatever he wants whenever he…

  • I take daily: A multivitamin. (As a type one diabetic I've always been pushed to take them. I did as a kid...then stopped. Recently started again, figuring it can't hurt) ("Quadruple-Strength") Cranberry (I am prone to HORRIBLE urinary tract infections that can take months to clear up, even with antibiotics. This is the…

  • I was eating back exercise cals, always have. I might not eat 100% of them, but I don't really go under very much from day to day.
  • That may be a goal for someone with high blood pressure or heart disease. Not all diabetics have that recommendation....I would guess not even MOST diabetics have that recommendation. I've been diabetic 19 years, and my recommendation, by my registered dietician is 2500.
  • I did what MFP recommended and didn't lose. Then I listened to what other web resources were telling me, increased my calories by 200/day and began losing. MFP isn't the be all, end all of advice - I personally think their BMR estimates are too low.
  • Celery and carrots
  • I don't eat after I've had my dinner (ie: no snacking). When I have dinner ranges from 5-8pm.
  • All those fad diets do is cause you to lose water weight. Which is great and everything....but the real goal should be to lose fat. Which takes time.
  • I'm eating 1400 a day (before exercise)........and losing weight. 1200 is not necessary to lose weight unless you are super short. (Also, I believe MFP way underestimates BMR, which affects the calorie goal it gives you.)
  • I didn't know about the fish...that helps! I eat fish (tuna, salmon, tilapia...I had pollock last night........about 5 times a week). I think the problem with tracking it is also that it's not required to be listed on food labels, so many foods I eat......I have no clue if it has potassium or how much. I just checked the…
  • Um then explain to me why it's specifically listed as one of the first major side effects in my prescription information, both on the packaging from Walgreens, and in my pill pack itself? I don't think they can list it as a side effect if it hasn't been proven it's a side effect. I never changed my eating habits, exercise…
  • I am on Loestrin. It caused me to gain 15lbs. However, some of that was welcome weight (I went up two cup sizes and am finally happy with my chest, haha). I was frustrated with the gain overall though. I'm managing to lose weight now, while still on the Loestrin, and I don't think it's hindering me. My body, after the…
  • I apologize if I'm repeating other people, I didn't read the replies. Snacks I frequently have include: string cheese hard-boiled egg fruit veggies with hummus fiber bar (Fiber One, Kellogg's FiberPlus, Quaker Chewy bars w/ Fiber and Omega-3, etc) half a cup of cereal (I think Special K Protein Plus tastes better dry than…
  • Unsalted cashews are pretty high in calories.
  • I know it can be scary to bump up your cals, but it does work for many people. I was eating 1200 a day (or just slightly under...about 1150 at the lowest) for weeks, and didn't lose much. This week I bumped up to 1400 and I lost 3.5lbs. Sometimes your metabolism gets used to what you're doing, and you need to change things…
  • Keep in mind that while fast foods are high in cals, so are many foods at 'sit down' restaurants. Take Applebee's for instance. Unless you specifically order one of their 'Under 500 Calories' or 'Weight Watchers' meals.......you can easily run into 1000+ calories. Some of their appetizers have nearly that much....... Most…
  • Alligator. I thought it tasted like spicy pork...I loved it. I was tricked into eating it though, and I'm glad about that......had I known ahead of time what it was, I probably would not have tried it.
  • I'm not GF, but my boyfriend, whom I live with, is. He wasn't diagnosed (his tests were negative) but he had all kinds of digestive issues that have mostly cleared up by going GF (I urged him to try it, on a whim), so he's sticking with it. I know it's hard for him sometimes, especially when we go out for dinner. At home…
  • strawberries Special K chips tilapia eggs La Tortilla Factory wraps (when my supermarket carries them...they run out frequently, so when they have them I buy 4 packages and then freeze them!) yogurt Lean Cuisines (I'm trying to cut back because of the sodium, but they're just so darn convenient!)
  • I'm never ever close. I feel like I'd have to eat nothing but high-potassium foods each day to get relatively close.
  • I didn't read all replies, so my suggestions may have been said already: 1)add cheese 2)add crumbled turkey bacon 3) top with salsa 4) put on a low cal tortilla w/ veggies and make a breakfast burrito 5) turn it into an omelet instead - I find that cream cheese in an omelet goes further than other cheeses, and the way it…
  • 5'6", 141lbs. 8 pants/medium tops in womens 11 pants/large tops in juniors I carry all my weight in my butt and my chest, so this greatly effects what I can and cannot fit into. Often the pants that are large enough to get over my behind are huge in the waist. It's irritating, but something I guess I just have to live…
  • 6 oz tilapia 3 oz broccoli w/ low fat sharp cheddar melted on top 1 ear of corn on the cob and 1 square of dark chocolate for dessert :) I was going to have less tilapia and also make shrimp, but I decided to save the shrimp for another day.
  • Mocha Chocolate - Delish coffee flavor makes it a great addition to any breakfast :) Oats and Caramel is yummy too
  • I love Healthy Life breads. Their buns are 80 cals each. Their white bread (which I also buy) is 35 cals per slice, and high in fiber.
