Been doing this for a year and until the husband recently started P90x, I 'hid' counting calories/weighing food from even him. He just thought I knew a *lot* about food. Now that he started counting cals it's actually liberating and fun for him to ask, "so what were the stats for dinner tonight?". However, I wouldn't feel…

x 3! My arms and legs feel humungo after working them. It's ridiculous given my build (small frame) that I feel like I can't bend my arms at the elbow after doing a lot of bicep work. It's all water - just remember to STRETCH. Seriously, have you ever had a masseuse work on your biceps? PAIN. Moreso than my neck/shoulders,…

Great job!!

^ exactly what I do. And get in the squat cage and away from the Smith. If you are unsure of your form, ask a trainer. Don't know where you go, but typically there should be some sort of fitness or club helpers that do more than just clean the floor. Never be afraid to ask!

bumping this for myself - good god you ladies are awesome :D

New addiction: theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2009/10/party-time-confetti-bites.html Basically buy egg whites, chop up your favorite veggies, and divide it in a muffin tray. Bake at 350 for 20ish min and keep in the fridge all week - zap when you want to eat.

I really like tofu - you just need to know how to prepare it. Made this for dinner... I was licking the sauce bowl squeeky clean: www.dailygarnish.com/recipes?recipe_id=6000063

I wake up famished. If I don't eat within a half hour or so then I start turning into a monster... Wake up at 5:20 and have ALL meals prepared for the day. Prior to workout (20 min it takes me to drive there) I have a small breakfast like a serving of cereal or a protein shake. After the workout (at work) I have my yummy…

Definitely made these tonight and they are now sitting in my freezer waiting to get into my belly!! I used unsweetened applsauce instead of the butter, though.

Yeah, feel free to add me if you are curious to see the diary. Chicken, lean turkey breast, shrimp, egg whites, greek yogurt, tilapia, pb, protein shake, etc... on an average day, I'm between 120ish-160g protein. It's really not that hard.

Bumping so I remember to come back to this. I am in the same boat... I believe trying to deadlift (probably too heavy) about 10 days ago lead to an injury (could literally not check my blind spot/turn my head without excruciating pain). About $350 in chiro and massage therapy later, I'm at 95% again. Ye-owch! Haven't done…

I am pretty fit and sweat like a P-I-G. I love sweating. I love seeing the drips on my arm, feel them inside my shirt come out of my skull. Everyone is self-conscious at the gym. Ev-reh-one. Embarrasing moments: I've farted/sweated/smelled, tripped, spilled water, and have had to re-start machines. Life goes on. Having a…

The in-laws just signed me up for tea of the month from a local shop and bought me a mug with an infuser... first packets came yesterday and I'm in love <3 Otherwise I drink a lot of Jasmine Green Tea and Celestial Seasoning's flavors: gingerbread spice, peppermint, candy cane, peach harvest, raspberry zinger.... I pretty…

I truly share your enthusiasm, I have stacks of notebooks each of food/recipes, health/fitness... And then notebooks with notes (recipes and articles) clipped into each category/notebook. Evernote is the best tool ever, I'm addicted.

6 egg whites + tons of veggies (mainly spinach, green onions, peppers, goat cheese) keeps me too full to eat my morning snack sometimes... cals - 291 carbs - 8 fat - 9 protein - 41 ETA stats

Ha! Agree with SleepyTexan if you want to avoid... Skinny Cow ice cream truffles. Or anything Skinny Cow.

Graduated over 10 years ago - was around 110-115 and 5'7". Now I'm 5'8.5" and 125-127 but same size per say. Just tried on my JR and SR prom dresses (don't ask why I still have them...??) they fit just the same. Love body re-comp! Heaviest was around 135 Sophomore year in college. It was all fat, no muscle at all.
-
Totally with you for your #1. Also, if I can't find a nutrition menu online I will definitely call the restaurant. Most of the time, they "don't have one available". Grr.
-
5'8.5" and right now I sit around 125-7, wear small tops and 4 in jeans (but I have to safety pin the waist tighter, if I went down a size don't think my legs would fit). A year ago I was under 120 and the clothes fit the same as they do now. A year ago if I was at my current weight, I'd have a muffin top and wear more…

All bags and food are packed the night before, workout clothes are laid out ready to go. My alarm goes off at 5:20am and I am out the door in 10 minutes or less. Check in at the gym by 6am and on the floor by 6:10. Strength/weights for 50m, run/intervals for 20ish. Shower and get ready in the locker room, at my desk by…

Re-reading your post; invest in an HRM if you can. If you own ski equipment and can afford a season pass/ticket surely you can spend at least sixty bucks for one..? And no, you definitely won't burn the same amount of calories in the same time skiing as you would running.
-
I ski. I haven't worn my HRM during the runs so the few times I've gone this season, I ONLY count the time I spend going down the hill on a run. Not on the ski lift/in line/waiting for people. Hope this helps... all I can offer is to wear an HRM and only run your watch when you're actually doing the activity.
-
My thing lately is Matchbox 20's song "How Far We've Come" when I'm running - it's the perrrfect beat to my fast pace. Jay-Z/Linkin Park's "Collision" album - any song. Beats, fast and LOUD! :D
-
MEMEME! I think that would be so amazing if you were generous enough to share.
-
Ha - nope. I always just eat it plain. It's my snack almost every night... Try sprinkling some herbs or spices on it like cinnamon or garlic. What kind do you eat? I eat Orville's 100-cal mini bags.
-
LOL I don't need to read any further into this thread because I do this too!! Don't think I've ever sang out loud, though.
