Great choice picking up asylum. I've just finished day 11, game day is a killer! There are two sorts of bands, ones like a giant rubber band and ones with handles on. You use the former for a few moves in a couple of the workouts. The latter is instead of dumbbells. Unless you struggle with good form with the dumbbells our…

Just about finished the first three Mistborn books, rather good! Not sure what to read next, holiday coming up so I want to stock up.

I've done P90x, Insanity and now Asylum, the wife has done P90x, Turbo Fire, and now Charlean Extreme. I'd recommend any of them, Insanity and Asylum need a good level of starting fitness before you start, the others aren't so bad. Charlean Extreme is like P90x, combines cardio with a fair amount of weights or resistance…

A Smartphone would be my number one exercise gadget. I can track my calories thanks to MFP, I can track and schedule my workouts and my sets thanks to Jefit and 90Droid, I can monitor my heart rate with the Polar Bluetooth HRM, I can track my route with GPS & Sport Tracker or Runkeeper, and finally I can take photos of my…

My partner uses the bands for ChaLean Extreme and has made good progress with them. I use them for certain exercises in P90x as well. They work really well and are very adjustable, if it's too weak just make a loop at the bottom of the band when you stand on it or increase the distance between you and the bottom of the…

I weigh myself daily but I rely on the trend weight reported on my Android Phone in Libra, I find this is more representative of what I actually weight and doesn't fluctuate so much. Just to make things even easier I have Libra download the latest measurements from my Withings Internet Scales automatically. See it in…

It's divided into two months, month one has the Pure series of workouts, these are a fair bit easier and shorter than month two's Max workouts. To do the cycle properly you'll do all the Workouts in a predefined series, all are hard in their own way. If you want something easier from a Cardio point of view look at P90x,…

Its a nominally 60 day workout from Beachboy with a focus on high impact cardio training. You'll work six days a week as hard as you can. You need a good level of starting fitness as it will test you, but it will reward you with great results. I've done P90x, most of the One on Ones, bits of Turbo Fire and Insanity, but…

Creatine aids water absorption for muscles, making them firmer and larger, it is not a pro hormone. I'd recommend it if you are looking to add muscle definition. Micronised Creapure is what I take as its the purest form of Creatine and the easiest to absorb by the gut, other forms can cause bloating. Best taken in cycles,…

Hip Hop abs is a great way to get started into the Beachbody family of workouts and looks a lot of fun. As Tavistock Toad says stick with the programme until it's completed and push as hard as safely you can while doing it. If you still feel like you have plenty of energy left once you've completed the workouts combine…

Your VO2 Max will decrease with age, but if you stop exercising then it'll decrease even more. Lower VO2 Max means you can't workout as intense (or as fast over a longer distance) as somebody with a higher VO2. Once you've removed illness, being overweight, and injury from possible joint problems there is no reason you…

What sort of exercise are you planning on doing, how fit are you, how fit do you want to be, and how intense do you want to workout? The more intense you workout the quicker you'll get fit. The fitter you are the more you can workout. The more you workout the more calories you burn.

I've eaten over 3000 calories and still lost weight on P90x. The trick is to eat your base calories plus what you've worked out, not more. You can eat less than that but it's likely to slow down your weight loss and your progress with P90x.

So I'm thinking of starting Crossfit after I finish up my next two rounds of Asylum (so I'm reasonably fit, not supersonic fit) and I have a few questions: 1) Working out at home as been a big part of why I have stuck to my current schedule for the last five months, can you do Crossfit at home? What kit do you need? I have…

I'm up for this although I'm looking to start on the 4th, would that be ok?

Chalene Extreme or P90x.

Sounds like you have hit a plateau, so you've three options in my book: 1) Carry on as you are and hope/pray you improve 2) Really push through the pain and do improve 3) Try something else, a change is as good as a rest

You might gain 8lbs of muscle in a month if you take Steroids and work really really hard, otherwise no way.

Do you have a pull up bar? Lots of great moves you can do with one of those.

Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHaxLPFqOYw work safe I promise, footage of the workout kicks in about 1 minute 20. One of my favourite workouts from Beachbody.

We discussed, planned, and saved up for about 12 months before trying for a baby (this was about six years into our relationship and we'd been living together for five of those six years), we got very lucky and caught with boy/girl twins the first month. They are now ten years old, goes so fast! Wanting kids was something…

Finished the first five Dexter books, rather good if a bit predictable and very different to the TV series. Now reading Tony Horton's book and have the Butcher Boy to read next.

Add in the arms workouts and the abs workouts from P90x. Insanity is more Cardio based (next level above P90x or Turbo Fire) and while it'll tone you it won't do the same job as P90x.

I second getting a HRM if you don't already have one. If you want to workout at home then Beachbody's Insanity would be my choice. I burn up to 860 calories in an hour on the harder cardio workouts.
