Plan your day out as much as possible food wise, if you are going to go over then plan some exercise to get the calories back. That's the beauty of this, nothing should be strictly off limits as your exercise can burn the calories off. It gives you flexibility

Why not throw a fesh fruit salad together the night before or some yoghurt with fruits and honey and granola, look for Healthier cereals that are high in fibre and slow release carbs, take a banana in to slice over it. If you feel a bit naughty a cold sausage sandwich and run home!

If this were the case surely she would be under close scrutiny?? I doubt that diet alone would have much to do with that, if it did then the discovery would have been made earlier and I might have been saved 2 years of dialysis and a transplant.

Hi, this may not help immediately but I have heard the glucosamine sulphate supplements can help really well with the muscle ache. The other way is to grit your teeth and bear it, if it is just in the muscle it means it is working as long as one leg in not significantly more painful than the other which could indicate…

Hello, I to have PKD and was lucky enough to get a transplant in January of this year. I have a free reign as far as foods are concerned now but did have to watch my potassium intake when I was pre transplant which can be tricky, I also had to be careful with calcium and phosphate but had to keep my protein intake up when…

I learnt the hard way by keeping bikes in the shed. After the 3rd one got stolen, the Yeti got a home under the stairs. Any bike shop should offer a free tune up service after a month. It's not about the short term expense of it, they should think about the long term custom. This is why my LBS gets repeat business from me…

Really cheap new bikes are not designed for regular riding as the parts tends to wear out quickly and tend to be non standard fit. Halfords have a bad reputation round here more for the lack of knowledge and skill of the staff although again, that can be the same anywhere. My advice would be to research what kind of bike…

I use Endomondo and yes, it is available for iPhone, I like the fact tells you how many trips around the world and trips to the moon you have done! I use it to log walks etc as well as it works out calorie burn based on your weight and height so it is more accurate than the generic figures that are on here, which are great…

Hard tails are great, but as I get older and things start to ache without doing anything full Suss is kinder to the body. If you start doing some serious off roading then you can afford the odd mistake and not get hurt. I had a lovely Yeti 575 until last year when it was sadly sold. I am on an old GT Aggressor while I save…

I am afraid so, a lovely 575 (see my ticker at the bottom of my posts)

I am a recovering mountain biker. Had to sell my Yeti last year due to lack of use thanks to kidney failure, now I have a shiny new kidney and am in the process of trying to save for a new bike. Am putting in gentle miles on a hard tail to build myself up. Feel free to add me. You can't half get some good calories back…

Feel free to add me guys, Endomondo is also another good ride logging app and website. It puts challenges up and alos allows you to track walks, runs etc and best of al, like this site its free! I am just startingt to get out again (my profile explains why- Dagza must be getting bored of it all now!) so a bit of mutual…

I will be hitting 40 this year, so I thought it would be a good idea to get myself sorted out. If you have a smart phone such as an iPhone or an Android phone (like a HTC or a new Sony Ericsson or Samsung) you can download the mobile version of this site which allows you to enter the values before you eat so you know…
