I just want to give everyone here a massive shout out for being brave enough to post here. Thank you, sincerely. I've had depression for about 20 years now. It came along with ME/CFS back in the day and didn't leave when that did. I'm still on medication and that's fine - it smooths things out and helps me to avoid the…

Stealth exercise is good. I used it on a friend of mine. We'd go for a coffee and then I'd suggest going for lunch at this great little place I'd been to recently that was only a 'short' walk away. 'Short' being about a mile. Also, you could cook for your friend every now and then. Company and good food can make a…

Back at you. Now get some sleep. S.

Yes. Rest, hydration, adequate nutrition. These are the things that make colds and flu go away. For me it comes down to a really simple question: would I rather be ill for a week while feeling like garbage as I try to eat at maintenance and rest so I get better, or be ill for two or three weeks while feeling like garbage…

Depends what you do with it. If you programme it, then yes. If you try to eat it with ice cream on the side, then not so much. On a serious note, though, I want one of those. I should learn to programme things. (And, yes, I'm using the olde english spelling of programme. It's hardwired into my brain.) I'm also a geek, a…

Ocean, always. ETA: Too slow again. Last night. ETA2: Also, @JospehVitte, 'steven......................none please! I gotta nuff real life f*ckers to deal with ' best answer ever! Beer, wine, or spirits?

Beach when it's cold and wet, but prefer mountains. Too slow! @missymoga - I'd say Christmas, but it's close... Werewolves, vampires or zombies?

Heh, you have titanium ovaries (more appropriate than balls of steel) to post this thread. I like your style. Anyone can feel free to add me. I am mostly male. S.

You could try wearing them on your thumbs, which tend to be a little bigger, and then at least you're still wearing them. S.

Also, on the subject of actors, Morena Baccarin (Firefly, V, other genre stuff I can't remember) is really bringing her A-game in Homeland. S.

I saw Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan in Beckett's 'Waiting For Godot'. Just incredible. Xavier/Captain Picard and Magneto/Gandalf on the same stage, doing full justice to one of my favourite plays. Also, David Tennant in 'Blackpool', or 'Casanova'. British actors have an easier time of it, I think. Pretty much all of…

36 years old here, and soon to be 37. Got tired of feeling like a failure and decided to do something about the things I could change. Anyone can feel free to add me as a friend. Take care everyone, S.

If you're worried about the size, Samsung have just announced a smaller version of the S3, which I think they're calling the S3 Mini, which should be about the same size as the iPhone 5. Might be worth holding off until that hits the stores. S.

Heh. 'Brain Baby' is an awesome phrase. I for one cannot wait to see what my tortured head meat has managed to spawn come November 30th. S.

I'm from Leeds originally, now living in Glasgow. I've only been seriously here for about five weeks, but it works. Feel free to add me anyone who wants to (apologies, this sentence is badly grammarised). S.

Drum kit, snare drums, bass drum pedals, modifications, stands and cymbals. Total list price: £3900. Total price actually paid: £2300 over the last decade. Best investment I ever made. S.

Balance. That's all there is to it. Balance your intake to allow you to indulge (in appropriate amounts) in the things you love. Otherwise you'll go crazy. Beer is not the enemy: too much beer is the enemy, the same as too much cheese or too much fish or too much cucumber* is the enemy. We all ended up here because we…

2000 Volkswagen Passat estate 1.8. It's got 126k on it and will probably run okay up to 300k with minimal work. It's fast enough to get out of trouble, gets 28mpg in the city and 42mpg on the motorway (which is just awesome for a large 12 year old car) and I can fit my ceilidh drum kit in the boot without putting the seats…

Feel free to add me if you like. Cheers, S.

Yeah, I get a similar thing from time to time. All I can suggest is that you try as many different things as are practical given your hectic schedule. You may find something you like, or, at least you'll know what you dread the least... Sorry, not that helpful. Anyone else got anything better?

I never realised a man buying pads and tampons for his partner was an issue until the day a cute girl saw me picking them off the shelf and said, 'Please tell me those are for your sister.' I told her they were for my (then) girlfriend and she gave me this slow up and down look and said, 'Damn, why are the good ones always…

Yeah, the freezer is your friend. I batch cook everything I make whether it's bolognese, gumbo, stew, soup, whatever. Anything that works okay when defrosted and reheated, even down to cheese sauce and stocks. Whenever I cook I make a huge batch, enough for between five and twelve meals for the two of us, and put…

Hello all, Geek here. The biggest influences on my early life were a Japanese show called Starfleet (X-Bomber). It's where I got my deep and unshakeable love of giant fighting robots from. Plus, Battle of the Planets, The Prisoner (the original strength series, not the remake with Jesus facing off against Gandalf), and…

Firstly, good work on getting out and doing some movement. You walked 13 minutes more than you walked the day before, and that's great. You will find yourself out of breath. When I smoked I had lungs like a tiny baby with tuberculosis. Not fun. But just increase the distance you walk by a little bit every day, or every…

Heh, good topic. Philly Joe Jones 'Blues For Dracula'. It's jazz. For Halloween. With Jones doing a fairly decent Bela Lugosi impression. It has to be the strangest Halloween tune I've ever heard. S.

I have received no creepy friend requests and therefore I am clearly a failure at MFP. Perhaps it's because I look like a serial killer? I'd post a cleavage shot, but all my moob-bras are in the wash... S.
