Fascinating  May you please volunteer one single Saturday evening in any regular hospital in the emergency room. Or may I personally introduce you to two people, one brain damaged and another one dead. Both victims independently to the so called "enjoyment" of somebody else to alcohol. And may we please discuss this…

He does. Mine does too  You WELL deserved our praise. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Absolutely impressing!

At the end it is the same thing. It doesn't make any difference if you count calories or points. You will not go to meetings anymore and save some money.

You would then basically live on carbs and (some) fibre. But your body needs protein and fat too to be healthy. So yes, it is a bad way.

I'm in Ireland as well. Please feel free to add me. I too look for people from IRL or UK

Hello and welcome :flowerforyou: I am very sorry about your losses. :frown: Please feel free to add me if you like. I am active here every day :-)

I log, what my HRM tells me, never the estimates from MFP. I do eat some of them back maybe a 1/3 oder 1/2 of it. But only if the burn on that day was rather high. Mainly because then I am more hungry

1. Make a list what you want from a gym and in which order. (Personal trainer, pool, boxing, classes ...) 2. Do test runs on different gyms 3. Take the one you felt homely and can offer what you need and want (see point one) 4. Use the Gym. And I promise you, after a very short period of time you wonder how you could ever…

Ice cream 5x5 Still in pretty low weight range compared to some other people, but I am ok with this. I do them rather slowly.

This. Did it become a sport lately to post about the 1200 thingi?
-
1. % defines a fraction out of 100 (no, you can not give 110%) 2. The correct measuring unit for the BMI is kg/m2 (square meter) - better known as area density 3. I would suggest you get your facts straight before writing something in capital letters

What??? You are NOT aiming for a thigh gap????? Why would you want to lose weight then anyway without any REAL goal?

Age: 40 Height: 168cm ~ 5ft8 Weight: 116 kg ~ 255 lbs (started at 137 ~ 316lbs) Calories: between 1800 and 2100 Lifestyle: office job, dog walking, weekends hiking, joined gym today and aim for 3-4 times a week at least 30 min. Tips: i think there is no real shortcut for losing weight. It is all about the "click" in the…

What is wrong with noodles? And where do I get one with only 280 cals? Anyway: No guilt. Never. Bad karma.

There is calculation for this. The very very basic rule is a pulse of 220 minus your age. I generally use my ft 4 for calorie counting. Plus, I would not be able to go to 180. (220 - 40 in my case) When I started working out, i almost broke down at a pulse around 130, in the meanwhile my max. is 150 before I have to make a…

Low carb is very hard. Makes me dizzy and unable to work well. Look for vegetables with low starch. But I think it is rather impossible to stay on such low carbs without drastically changing your diet. More meat, eggs, nuts, less to zero flour containing stuff like rice, potatoes, bread, sugars, etc.

Hello I have a looooooooooooot to lose. Don't want to consider myself as "older" but I probably am  I also always look for friends for support and supporting. Would love to get more active people :flowerforyou:

I'll be dead if I eat only 1200 cals. Not even to talk about motivation ....
-
Everything of the above. MFP is not known as an overestimator in Calorie-giving. So 2300 is rather good. This is good rate and makes you not to fall of the waggon to quick, as you can still eat loads. Happy shredding :-)

Hello. I have to lose at least 100 lbs, feel free to add me. Happy for any support and giving support

Like the article. Specially the part with the weed pulling  I think, it is the "click" that has to come to mind. It is kind of the same with smoking or drinking. As long there is no "click" there will be no (lasting) success. Thanks for sharing.

I use my HRM for all exercise. The other article explained, that the HRM overestimates calories if not steady cardio due to the heart rate and VO2 level. An hour weight lifting gives me around 160 - 170 cals, where else an hour of fast walking or uphill walking gives me between 250 and 350. I think this is pretty accurate…

Seriously, you were asking this? But still, I can not accept the random agression about this. Ethical vegans have a certain opinion, but hardly want to kill. Unlike other extremists. So for me, if I have to choose an extremist, I choose a vegan
-
I am really shocked by the amount of aggressivity. Agreeing or not with Vegan, there is no way whatsoever to get to that point of physical aggression. :noway: Most people don't give a **** about animals and the way they are treated in these farms of mass production. I am rather sure, that some people would at least turn…
