  • I can't say what I am feeling right now after reading your story, it's beautiful. And that Jackie is a precious woman, for sure. I am wondering if you have ever been invited to speak at local health seminars. Your story would be so helpful to so many. Keep sharing, many more need to here your voice! God bless you.
  • Great story. The pics are wonderful and you are a fantastic writer. Thanks for sharing and CONGRATULATIONS!
  • Diet/weght loss pills are temporary fixes (if they work at all). Too many have been marketed as "safe" only to be removed when people start getting sick from them. A lifestyle change with better food choices and regular exercise is the only guaranteed safe way to a leaner, healthier body. I'd say save your money for the…
  • Yeah, the 'experts' say eat the smaller meals throughout the day, but that's easier said than done, depending on your lifestyle. It doesn't work for me and I'm totally ok with 3 meals. Like others have said already, its the calorie counting that counts the most for weight loss.
  • I agree with the person who said she was a secret eater, totally me! I'm home with my food all day long, and my kitchen is in the middle of my house, so I constantly walk through it... And I'd stop and grab and Oreo, then back through and a little dish of ice cream, then again for another Oreo and maybe a handful of chips.…
  • We all know good choices make us feel good about ourselves and poor choices make us feel bad about ourselves. I like what ZaftigLor said about feeling better in the moment, for me that's by at least putting forth some kind of effort to make a simple change. I don't over analyze all my poor choices eating and lack of…
  • I had an experience similar to yours before. Once your body is "cleaned out" so to speak by eating clean and healthy, then you say 'hey, I can afford the calories' and go there, it can be an awful experience. As I said, my experience was just like yours with a month of very healthy eating. Then after my first trip back to…
  • Diet soda = aspartame = not good health. I encourage you to read up on artificial sweeteners, especially aspartame. I gave up diet sodas completely - couple of years ago and I can honestly say that I feel better, which in turn, has helped me with my weight.
  • I accept I made a bad choice, but I am quick to move on... You're so right that it's the mental thing that gets us the most! Beating myself up mentally puts me in a downward spiral quicker than anything, and next thing you know I'm running for some chocolate comfort. That's why I say put it behind you as quick as you can…
