Start lifting weights now! While cardio is great for burning calories, doing TOO MUCH cardio will also burn your muscle! Start building the lean, sexy muscle now so it will already be there to show off as the fat melts away from your body. I learned this the hard way with focusing too much on half marathons and not enough…

I LOVE IT and totally recommend it! I am in the middle of Stage 3 right now and have seen lots of gains in my strength... I have put on a little weight, but have LOST inches which are what matter!!

My guess would be that he means simple or refined carbs... the kind that break down into sugar super fast and then leave you with that crash feeling at 2:30pm and make you crave for more refined carbs. Complex carbs from veggies, whole grains, etc. don't do that so I don't see why those would be an issue. Perhaps he should…

I went from only being able to run about 3 miles at a time to running a half marathon in about 3 months of training. Google the Hal Higdon method of 1/2 or full marathon training. Very helpful.

I am currently in the process of re-growing both of my big toe toenails from running half marathons... I decided to get my running shoes 1/2 size bigger than my real size and it has helped tremendously when my feet swell during running!!

No way at all.

You can. I have found it easier to use dumbbells when it calls for Bulgarian split squats and rear-foot/front-foot elevated lunges though you may have no problems at all.
-
That all sounds like a great start! I would say to definitely get a set of heavier dumbbells (20-25lbs) to help you out with lunges, etc. as you progress. Also, you might not get to your max ability with squats if you don't have a rack to help get the bar up to your shoulders. Other than that, you seem like you are pretty…

I am doing the program, but not at home... Unless you have a full gym with barbells, plates, squat rack, dumbbells, etc., you will have a very hard time doing this at home. Edited for spelling.

I don't, because over the course of the next few hours when my metabolism is elevated and I am burning more calories than I normally would by just existing, I never track those... so I figure by not subtracting my "existing" calories from my burn and not counting the extra calories from my after burn, it all evens out in…

I dont use specific ounces, I just use this as a general rule of thumb: drink enough water to have at least one clear urination a day. If your urine is always yellow or worse, orange-y, then you are dehydrated. Very pale yellow or clear urine is what you should aim for.

Damn, you look so great!! So inspiring!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this analogy!! So true!

Go read the book "New Rules of Lifting for Women" by Lou Schuler, Cassandra Forsythe and Alwyn Cosgrove. Even if you aren't into lifing (which does wonders for losing weight, though), the nutrition part of the book that they focus on first is incredibly helpful. It explains why you need to have a smaller and smaller…

Hummus! I only know 2 people that love hummus like I do and everyone else seems to hate it!... More for me! :)

Do some HEAVY SQUATS! You won't lose your butt and it will look amazing!

So true! My half marathon time went from 2:24:32 to 2:04:47 when I didnt do anything different to my running program, but rather I added in more strength training like squats and lunges! Edited for spelling.

I'm not against liposuction / other cosmetic surgeries if you have already lost the vast majority of the weight through eating and exercise and have established the habits that you will need to keep it off.

I was just starting my sophomore year in high school and I had a bleeding cyst on my ovary. The doctor put me on birth control and some other medication to help correct the problem. Over the course of the year, I gained about 20 lbs (due to both the medication and normal growth, I'm sure). Around March, I got asked to prom…

Depends on the kind of "fat" guy. If it is a guy that has fat on him but can keep up with my active lifestyle and enjoys lifting, running, ect. with me, then yes. Or, if he is fat and is working to be fit. I mean, I used to be overweight and even though I have lost most of what I want to lose, I still have a little belly…

It's not shallow to want someone that wants the same things out of life that you do. It is definitely possible to love someone that isn't right for you. If you are ambitious and he is not, he could end up holding you back and you may end up resenting him for it down the road. I would say tread carefully with this.

My sister is 23, 5'3" and around 190 lbs. Any time I ever brought up any of my running or lifting, she got kind of irritated and acted like she didn't care. She finally admitted to me that it is because she feels hopeless and doesn't know how to get started. This might be the same case with your sister... she already knows…

I started eating within 1 to 1 1/2 hours of when I woke up, no matter what time of day that was.
