I have lost almost 65 pounds and went from a size 22 to a 16. Working now on getting rid of more body fat around my middle. I started Jan 2014 and for most of last year I ate 1700 calories and exercised about 4 to 5 times a week. It's a mindset. I was determined to do it. I found activities that made me want to stick with…

I'm on 1400 calories and believe me, I wouldn't go any lower. It's tough to get enough protein and nutrients the lower you go and I don't want to take supplements. I eat lots of fruit and veggies and usually lean meats/fish/chicken, I exercise a lot so I can eat more than 1400 and that works well. I have type 2 diabetes…

20 minutes on the exercise bike and 50 minutes on the treadmill.

I totally understand! I just realized today that I am only 15 pounds away from being merely overweight instead of obese. And when I started last year I was morbidly obese. So heck yes. Passing these stages r thrilling. Congratulations!!!

You will get some comments that are well meaning and some that are blatantly nosy and intrusive. You can simply laugh them off and not reply, which will give them a message. Or you can say I'm glad I lost all that weight so I can just live and not talk about it anymore. They'll get the message either way.

I'm glad mfp helped you so much! It's helped me reach for that goal by telling me what weight I will be in 5 weeks after my daily calorie completion. It's also helped me be accountable, by writing down what I eat. And it's nice to know that everyone is positive and confident and successful! I lost 65 pounds last year and…

What a wonderful transformation! You look fantastic!

You made some great choices, and you dropped some bad habits, so continue to feel good about yourself and stay confident. You are the boss, so if you are getting good results, then you will succeed. MFP is an aid and hopefully you will find more positive features about it, and use it in tandem with whatever else works for…

Stationary bike 10 minutes, treadmill 40 mins total which included 15 mins of jogging, the rest of the time a brisk walk

I'm 58 and lost 65 pounds last year. Working on getting 30 pounds off this year, the last phase of my weight loss. I stalled between Jan and Feb, losing and gaining the same 5 pounds. I decided to stop worrying about it till just before March and now I am totally back on track. I think I just succumbed to that cold winter…

My nutritionist wanted me to forgo the brown sugar because of empty nutritive calories so now I throw raisins in it. Oatmeal is so comforting on cold days.

My back first i think, then butt, waist, legs, boobs, face, stomach yes, but most of the fat is there so way more to lose there

When I saw pictures of myself and did not like the fat on my face or body. Also, my doctor said if my blood sugar went up a bit more she would suggest medication. Nope. No medication. I got my *kitten* in gear and lost 65 pounds and more is coming off this year.

Thanks Alaskanveteran. I think I need to get the quieter wooden ones.

Thanks for the information. Much appreciated. And yep amberj32, snowshoes exist lol. I would say you don't know what you're missing but up here we're really missing the kind of warmth you have even though my snow hikes have been beautiful.

Just don't tell them u r working on losing more. Just say u love being active and that your body will adjust as it needs to. Do whatever u think is healthy for u.

Deb from Ontario. Lost 65 pounds last year and intend to lose at least 20 this year, hopefully 30 in total. Love hiking and cycling, which is basically how I lost all the weight. Looking forward to hearing from the people in this group and their journey towards a leaner energetic body. I'm amazed that at this age - 57 - my…

You have a wonderful healthy glow. What exercises did u enjoy most?

You look wonderful! I've lost 65 and my mission this year is to get down another 20-30 pounds. Your success is inspiring!

Sometimes we have to do it more than once (or twice) to get to the place where we keep it off. It's just a matter of finding exercise(s) you really like so you will stick to it and your body will crave it. And the attitude, which you seem to have, to get there.

I'm glad I'm not alone lol. My body feels like stockpiling food but I know that's a bad slide to get into. I know in the spring I will get out on my bike and go like the wind but right now whoa!

Okay forget all the gimmicky suggestions and products and find an exercise you like that doesn't feel like working out. I hike and love being outside so it doesn't feel like exercise but it's a huge calorie burner. Find something fun to do is the key to stick with it.

I have an underactive thyroid too, but I don't think it ever stopped me from losing weight. My medication should make the thyroid work properly anyway. Basically, you need to restrict calories and boost your metabolism with exercise.

I've lost 67 pounds since Jan 2014. This year I want to finish off my weight loss by losing 20-30 pounds. That should put me where I should be, since my goal is to get off a lot of my excess stomach and thigh fat. I've gone from a couch potato to a woman who loves exercising outdoors even in the winter. I even do night…

I think a lot of people have felt this way. Not being able to get off the bad eating habits routine, feeling like you're in a hamster wheel. You are strong, but you haven't made yourself a priority. You can delegate some things to your husband and make time for yourself. How old are your children? Are they things they can…

Yes I really do understand how you feel. Seeing yourself in a picture and not liking what you see can make you feel awful. That was me a year ago. But now if you're ready to lose some of that weight, be kind to yourself. Eat wholesome foods that you truly enjoy. and find activities that you enjoy enough to make exercising…

I am 58 and lost 70 pounds last year and want to lose 20 to 30 this year which should get me to my goal. Feel free to add me.

Nope. U won't always be fat. U r the boss. Not the fat. We get used to being plus sized but when we're ready to tackle it we can be the feisty lean person we were meant to be.
-
I hope you have great cushioned shoes for work. I only have one child but when he was little I would cycle in the summer with a trailer behind so he could sit and I could exercise.

I stay motivated because I look at my legs and see how they have changed and I love the energy I have. I also know that I am tougher than the fat on my body and that it has no chance of staying on my body with all the exercise I do. I stay motivated because I love feeling strong.
