Call me old fashioned but if you had a good date and then he texts you to make a date and then texts to break a date, it doesn't sound good. If a guy is really interested he should pick up the phone. Yep. The phone. If he's interested he will want to hear your voice and make sure you're still interested and keep a…

It works for me keeping track on here but I have taken a hiatus from time to time. When I go overboard on eating for too long a time I come back here.

Has there been an answer to this since 2013?

5 pounds loss needed to get to 199 and I'm pumped about that! Did it last year and squandered it on indulging too much. Not happening this time!

Thanks thegaragegirl01. Just the info I was looking for! I figured it would be a great addition to my other cardio. I tried yoga last year and it was just too slow for me but I figured pole dancing would challenge me with a variety of moves.

I'm a newbie runner too and this advice has been great! I was thinking of getting a waist belt with the smaller water flasks since I tried a backpack and didn't like the weight on my back.

You are doing a great thing by looking after yourself. Focus on the positives. Keep those feet moving.

The eating is from bad habits. I've been there. Much of emotional eating can be reduced by getting out to exercise. The best therapy can be just simply walking. Or whatever you prefer. Years ago I used to not exercise if I had overeaten. Now my exercise is number one, regardless of what I put in my mouth. And my exercise…

Great to see a cycling thread! I have a Raleigh sprite that i've had about 20 years. I'm a little curious to see what a lighter frame would feel like but my bike's been good to me. I've been cycling a fair bit this year. I wish I'd kept a tally but will try to from now on. Mostly fine stone rail trails. Group rides and…

Thanks for the encouragement and the info re stretching oilphins! It's good to hear from someone who has been my weight and ran it off! Some of my friends think I'm crazy for wanting to run but I enjoy the feeling. I may never run for an hour but hopefully it helps me get this last 30 pounds off. And thanks everyone for…

Good point. I should take a look at my protein intake and see if it's enough.
-
True. And I think the phone app sports trackers may overestimate the amount burned for an activity even if your weight is entered.

I have my calories set at 1450. I don't believe that going any lower is good so I am thinking that I need to decrease my bread and cereal group. And too many indulgences from timmies.

What a wonderful informative inspiring post! Congratulations on your achievement! You look terrific.

If anyone has training in exercise and nutrition I would especially appreciate your advice.
-
That's a good attitude. I figure as long as I am easing into it and listening to my body I should b fine
-
Thanks mwyvr. Your info is encouraging. I am noticing good cardiovascular endurance with my jogging and I am taking it slowly
-
Age is not my concern. Just my repairing Achilles. Stretches seem to be helping as well as the physio I had earlier. Just wondered if anyone my age started out slower
-
Justme2691. Interesting that u like jogging now that it is your choice. It feels powerful to run. I will take it easy and increase as I can but prob won't do marathons
-
Lesaw01 thanks for your reply too. Nice to know u r successful at it And that u take your time as I need to do

Yes she is very inspiring! I have some discomfort from my Achilles tendon but after completing some physio it is somewhat better. I love the feel of running so I do it maybe one or two days a week for now.

Btw I am just over 200 pounds. Down 60 from last year.

I had a friend say she was annoyed with me because I said on fb that I wanted to lose another 20 pounds. (Which I do need to do). She was larger than me and somehow felt pressured because she thought it reflected on her for not losing weight. I told her I want to lose this fat for me. And yep, I have had one friend use the…

Oh no! Not fun. I also went out last week for my first spin and was glad the tires were still firm.
-
I did about the same, looking forward to more!

maybe sprinkle some cinnamon on them if you aren't allergic

A 2 hour hike and a half an hour bike ride
-
I did the Santa run too. Keep having fun together.
-
Thanks! It's definitely worth the work and time.

My advice is to exercise faithfully at whatever activities you enjoy. I didn't join a gym, just used my indoor bike and treadmill and when outside hiked and cycled and climbed the escarpment stairs. Also did some pool classes. Exercise will make healthy living a lifelong commitment and will help get you back on track when…
