  • I've been off here for a bit. I cannot do moderation for some of my faves. I start off with the moderation plan but I end up in the "OMG - did I just eat that entire package??" department!
  • With each of my children, I lost the pregnancy weight the fastest while I was breastfeeding because it burns calories to produce the milk. I think I read it burns 500 calories a day, but it was a LONG time ago, lol, so that could be incorrect.
  • I am hoping to stay exactly the same throughout the holiday. I am usually pretty good and able to not go overboard on treats, but put a pie in front of me and it's all over!!

  • I sometimes "pre-eat" before a meal: some carrots and almonds, or a salad about 1/2 hour before dinner (my toughest moments are portion control at the dinner table!), as well as a sip of water between EVERY bite, putting my fork down to do it. Slows me down so I can't eat faster than my brain can register.
  • I love my freebie MapMyRun - I can log pretty much anything. Funny, when I put in snow shovel though, it automatically logs it into MFP for me...as gymnastics! So occasionally it looks like I am doing gymnastics for 90 minutes LOL!
  • Started measuring, upped my water to 8+ per day, and BOOM - just dropped 1/2 pound! Bye bye plateau! :-)

  • Ok, food scale it is! I typically try to overestimate my food portions, and I underestimate my calorie burns (I wore a HRM at my boot camp class to get an average #). Thanks for the chart! It's really helpful!

  • Today I start day 3, modified somewhat, and it is going pretty good. I don't expect huge numbers as I don't have a lot to lose, and I did not give up my white wine with dinner! I have, however, managed to get in some green tea, I'm getting used to it! I weigh in on Thursdays.
