I have 2 or 3 meals a day, and don't snack very much. This is my second round on MFP and the first time around I ate low fat everything and had to eat every couple hours to not be starving. This time my knowledge of nutrition is different so I'm eating more whole foods and find it much easier to go longer between meals.

Have a look on allrecipes.com for vegetarian meatloaf recipes. I've always wanted to try but never got around to it. Or what about Greek moussaka?

Some of these stories are killing me! I work for a construction college, teaching English and Math to construction workers in their 20's. One day I put on my favourite pair of skinny work pants and realised that the last time I wore them, the whole butt had split from crotch to waist. I have no idea how much of the lesson…

It's good roasted in the oven with a little olive oil too.

bump! You all look amazing!

What about TVP/textured vegetable protein? It's made from soy and you can get it in health food stores or Indian groceries. I live in the U.K. and they also call it Soya chunks or Soya mince here. You just rehydrate with boiling water and chuck it into whatever you're cooking. Also try cooking your beans with asafoetida,…

All of the above plus a bath as hot as you can handle, and a meal as spicy/garlicky as you can handle.

200% agree. This alone is worth every penny! I have 2 pairs of leggings and LOVE them--no muffin top, not at all seethrough, oh yes and have we mentioned the camel toe blocker? I wear mine for yoga/hot yoga every day and they look exactly the same as they did 2 years ago.

trying this! I've never even heard of cloud bread.

What about taking a beginners course? You'd be in a room with people who are all at the same stage as you, and a teacher who will get to know you and can show you modifications to the poses. It definitely gets easier as you get stronger, but I've been practising regularly for 2 years and I still get sore muscles pretty…

I'm a kinda frumpy, nearly-middle-age teacher and I am TOTALLY with you on this.

My ex was like this! He wouldn't try anything new, and he pretty much only ate pasta, white bread, chips and grape pop. I love cooking and trying out different recipes, and everyone loved my food except for him. It's actually one of the reasons we broke up--I couldn't imagine spending my life with someone whose first…

THIS is exactly my reasoning too. Diabetes and dementia are common in my family and it's worth being proactive and trying out different things now to avoid these diseases. I'm fairly happy with my weight right now, so if I do lose any it'll be a bonus. I can understand why everyone is skeptical, and yes the 5:2 diet is a…

try yogaglo.com, which streams real classes of lots of different styles of yoga with excellent teachers. they offer a free 2-week trial and after that it's $18/month for unlimited classes.

I love them! I get the nutrition plan so get a mixture of olives, nuts/seeds, dried fruit and stuff like that--it definitely keeps me from raiding the candy machine at work! The portions are only 38 grams, so some of my friends scoff at it (you know the "you could buy it in bulk so much cheaper" attitude) but I like the…

This! And add handstand and splits to the asana goal list (too lazy to look up sanskrit names). Also, at least 90% of what I eat to be clean, nutrition-packed, home cooked food.

bumping this! Thanks everyone.

I do vinyasa and ashtanga, most days but just log it under "yoga"--if I burn more calories than the database says, it's a bonus!
-
Bump! Thanks

Me too! I guess being 33 and looking after yourself is pretty much unheard of....
-
I also refuse to live without my latte...I tried going without but it just ruined my whole day. Someone on here suggested putting cinnamon in with your grounds when you brew it--I haven't tried but it might give you some of the flavour without the syrup?

Some of these recipes sound amazing! Try mine too-- Cubed bns, a can of coconut milk, curry powder and chili flakes to taste. Simmer on med-low until you can peirce the squash easily with a fork. The coconut milk will thicken into the best sauce you have ever tasted!!! Serve over rice/noodles/"cauliflower rice" etc. Make…
