Feel free to add me! Busy mom of two here trying to get in better shape to keep up with them. Struggling to break through about a 12-18 month plateau myself & would welcome some fresh faces of encouragement. ;-)

Have you visited a Chiropractor for your headaches? I was a frequent HA sufferer also until I started getting chiropractic care. Several types of HA actually are the result of your cervical spine (neck) being out of alignment. I personally went from taking Excedrin daily to only needing occasional (about 10-12 weeks apart)…

Floaters are actually dark spots that move through your vision. Sparkles & flashes of light should be reported immediately to your eye doctor so he/she can verify you are not having a retinal detatchment. Sparkles, auras, & squiggly lines could also be indicators of optical migraines. Hope this info helps you.

Go ahead and log if you feel up to it. You can put a "sick day disclaimer" in the food notes section of your diary. Might even be entertaining to see who congratulates you for being under calorie goal when it pops up on news feed versus who really cared enough to go in and read your logging for the day. ;). Feel better…

A goal is something to be reached, not avoided. I try to get as close to my goal as possible whether it ends up being a little over or under. I don't condone the idea of congratulating anybody on their day without looking at the diary first. I usually try to note in mine if the day is "off" my norm for any reason. It is…

Sounds yummy! :drinker:

I feel your pain here! Very curious to see what kind of suggestions people offer for you. I hang around with a very "sociable" crowd and used to regularly enjoy the adult beverages before I saw how much damage one night could do to the diet. Now I am more selective on which occasions I drink. This summer has been very…

MMMM....yummy! Thanks for sharing!! :drinker:

Maybe you should show them a BMI chart and indicate where you are on that and where your goal is. If they have that visual aide that shows your goal is still well within healthy for you then maybe they won't worry as much. Might help them to see where they are on that chart also to give them a better perspective.…

Related question here: What if water is your primary beverage all day? I drink A LOT of water also, but rarely drink other beverages. I also talk a lot with my job & do feel thirsty when I drink so I don't feel I am forcing myself to drink as much as I do. :drinker:

I have one of the "Jock Jams" CDs that I still like to play during workouts. It has a bunch of the old school hip hop stadium songs from late 80's to early 90's.

You admit that you haven't been doing the things you know you should to be healthy. You also know that with MFP you have a great support group and all the tracking tools you need. Take advantage of MFP and take care of yourself. As you begin to get healthier you will begin to feel better, both physically and emotionally.…

I'm also interested in the responses that you get to this! My parents are both overweight & with health issues. I also have trouble convincing my mom especially that MFP could work for her and that even a short daily walk would be beneficial to her.

We never buy ground beef anymore in my house. The ground turkey might take a little getting used to at first but after that you will love it. It is cheaper too!! We also do hamburgers on the grill with it. Just add some seasonings & you get a delicious burger. Or Jennie-O also has the frozen "Savory Seasoned" pre-made…

I totally agree!! :drinker:

I'm 5'4" and have already lost 30+ lbs but still have about 40+ lbs left to lose. Feel free to friend me & we can motivate each other!! :flowerforyou:

I usually take about a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood where my office is whenever the weather cooperates. Still leaves me enough time to grab lunch & not feel rushed. :)

Hmmm.....sounds like that might have something to do with the previous injuries or due to having a brace on. I do suggest you ask a health care professional and keep an eye on it closely. I do also however seem to notice an overall swelling when it is hotter outside, like around my rings and in my feet. I just try to up my…

Go with the tried and true method of filling up on the good for you things from home before you go to the party. Drink plenty of water while there and just take a sampling of the healthiest options offered. If anybody tries to push more food your way just tell them you don't seem to have much of an appetite for what ever…

"I look at something and instantly flip the package over and read the nutritional stuff. I instantly think, "man, I don't want to waste 150 calories on this"." I too am guilty of this even with foods that I know are still healthy & good for me .......:embarassed:

I am also curious about this......

My MFP calorie goal is also set to 1200 and I had always tried to come in under the goal. This week though I changed my outlook on the calorie goal and strived to actually hit the goal. I don't worry about going over, just keep it close. I have noticed the scale move more this week than it seems to have in a long time! And…

Welcome!! You will do great here! :)

I am dealing with the same thing as you right now. Mine started on Wednesday with a sore throat & ears. It had me down in bed all day Thursday with low grade fever, body aches, VERY sore throat, and fatigue. I went to the doctor on Friday to make sure it wasn't Strep Throat & it wasn't. Now throat is better, but still…

I also weigh daily just to keep myself on track. I don't take the fluctuations to heart but try to watch for patterns. Like I had pizza last night and the scale was up today. I realize that the pizza was high in sodium and this was most likely due to that. I have also found that when I am able to spread my calories out…

I am curious also!! I did quite a bit of yardwork today also but cut the time I logged in about half as I felt it over estimated my calories burned.

I battled with depression for several years. At times it was severe. I had been on and off medications and in and out of therapy for all of those years also. I am proud to say that I am now off of all medications and no longer in need of therapy. I feel better than I have in years. I stumbled across the books by Richard…
