  • Absolutely you have more then enough time. I just trained for a 1/2 marathon in 12 weeks, granted I've been running 5k, 10k, and 15ks. Do you run regularly or is this your first big race?. You can check out programs online runnersworld has a great one. You can also check out local running stores or gyms to see if they have…
  • Dress 15 degrees above the estimated temp. So you should dress for about 55's because once you get running, your body will heat up. Good running wicking socks should do a great job. I wore them all winter in the snow and never had a blister no matter how bad the storms got! If you didn't want to wear shorts, I would…
  • I highly recommend getting fitted for shoes. Good running stores can offer a pluthera of information and will talk you through some issues. If they can not, some of them do have recommendations for specialists. Our local store, listens and video tapes your run! Worth it!
  • So I saw your post and got super excited for you! I did 2 mud-runs last year (not the zombie run but the Warrior Dash and Dirty Girl) and hope I can give you some advice. - If it is at a ski resort: expect HILLS!!! Work on increasing your cardio!! - Upper body strength. Yes the walls are scary looking, but once you get out…
  • When I realized I was an a "very obese" person that co-workers and medical shows were always talking about. I avoided mirrors and had very low self-esteem. In my eyes, I was young and "healthy". But than I saw pictures. I felt how short of breath I got with walking or a small hill. I was labeled the "big girl". Then I…
  • Coffee! It's my one and only vice that will never go away, it will always be a part of me and my 1 cup a day is never going to change. And I'm okay with that :) And water. I know I need more and don't need to jog it to remind myself.
  • I have been a member for quite a while and looking for some new friends for motivation! I have lost over 100lbs and my goal is to continue to lose weight, but mainly focus on my overall fitness and health. Feel free to add :).

  • Go.to.the.doctor. or talk to one of the trainers at the gym. They will probably tell you the same thing. But fainting is no joke. Maybe a trainer can be a witness and give a suggestion.?
  • I just went to BJ's wholesale club and was able to get a giant bad of EAS Whey Protein (26g protein per 2 scoops) for less then 30, I know this kind is also at Target (prices vary)! Speaking from experience, I have tried many different types of protein and this one is by far my favorite. Not too chalky and easy to get…
  • You can't taste it at all! My only recommendation is to make sure you blend it well to make sure you don't have the chunks of spinach floating. My green monster is: 1-2 cups spinach, 1 cup milk (of any type), 1 vanilla greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon natural pb, 1 frozen banana Happy Smoothies!
  • Thank you so much everyone!! It's been quite the challenge, but I definitely enjoy my new lifestyle!

  • I took this class a couple times at my gym. It was an intense yoga/Pilates class with a lot of repetitive movements. I felt it most in my arms, shoulders, and legs. I recommend trying it out. It is definitely something different and a different type of challenge.
  • That is exactly how I feel! I have worked so hard and feel like I have slide backwards. I know I haven't slid back that far, but 3 weeks of minimal effort its just making it difficult to get back going hard. I wish I could be up early enough to beat the heat. I have tried numerous times to get up before work (which starts…
  • II actually just got my new one Saturday! After years of wanting to get another tattoo, I decided that after my hard work and almost 100lbs lost that I deserved a new one. My tattoo represents something personal, but the time frame was for my weight loss. So I would say go for it! Everyone will give you their own opinions,…
  • I HATE it when co-workers mock me out if I happen to be walking funny after a hard work-out. I'm sorry that I was able to get to the gym multiple days and work my butt off. I won't even complain about the pain and their will still be mocking comments. How about you try one of my work-outs and we will see how you do the…
  • I have some texture issues with foods and found it difficult to adjust to the texture of these, its just a little different then regular noodles! Hungry Girl uses these in her recipes all the time.
  • I tried this a little while ago and got off track. I would definitely like to try this out again! I'm game!
  • I love Zumba, but honestly it depends on who the instructor is. Some are better then others (just like any class). But I would recommend for anyone NOT to give up after the first class. I see most people not come back because it was too hard the first time. The more frequent you go, you can learn the routine and focus more…
