Aishlynn, you need salt! You need more salt than on any other type of diet, because all the water we drink flushes out a lot of sodium. I recommend beef or chicken broth. Although in a pinch some pickle juice would work too.

I recommend you research nutritional ketosis. It has done wonders for me. Lost 20 pounds in six weeks do very minimal exercise. I also know people who are following this way of eating and lost large amounts of weight doing no exercise because of disabilities.

Upping protein is not effective if you are trying to be in ketosis. Ketosis is a High fat and only moderate protein way of eating. If you have too much protein there is a process called gluconeogenesis in which protein is converted to glucose and will spike insulin. The goal of keto is too keep insulin stable. Too much…

I think 80% is a bit drastic. Try switching to 75% fat 20% protein and 5% carb. Also make sure you are eating enough. I recommend using the keto calculator and customizing your calorie intake based on that. If you are feeling less energetic try upping your fat intake and making sure you are getting enough salt, potassium…

The saturated fat is not neccesarily a cause for concern. There are numerous research studies that suggest the actual cause of heart disease and high blood pressure is caused by insulin spikes which can be almost completely avoided by consuming low carbs. The high fat intake is what gives you energy and allows your body to…

I am a coffee fanatic and I have two bullet proof coffees a day... I love it and it keeps me satisfied. I do mine this way: One cup of coffee (I use k-cups) 1tbsp of Kerrygold grass fed butter, one tbsp of heavy whipping cream, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tbsp of coconut oil and torani sugar free syrup (I have chocolate right…

Yes, all the time. That's the point, the fat allows you to burn the fat you are carrying in your body and so you don't need as many calories/energy.

I have heard that the transition from burning carbohydrates to burning fat can cause initial gain as your body gets used to the change. However, if you stick with it you will lose weight. My advice is to drink half your body weight in ounces a day at least. Drink some more after that. Drink tons of water! I think you will…

I recommend eating leafy greens to add to your carb count if you are concerned. However, if you are doing a LCHF diet going over on fat and under on carbs is ok.

I put a tablespoon of butter in coffee this morning...it really helps keep a curb in the appetite, but yeah real butter...yum.
