  • Since I am relatively new to MyFitnessPal, I thought that the 1200 calories suggested was personalized for me, taking into account my height, activity level, and weight? So am I to understand that 1200 is the suggest calories for everyone?
  • Do you think six weeks of strength training would make a difference? I hope so! I don't strength train now. I have some weights, they are only two pounds. The only exercises I do are the ones my physical therapist gave me to strengthen my back and abdomen. He said I am free to do any exercise I want to now. I am actually…
  • Let's keep the group going! I didn't join any of these other groups because they didn't seem very active. This seems like a safe place to discuss diet pills. On the regular forums, I've had people get really angry when I mention it. This is not my first time taking it, so feel free to ask questions or friend me. This time,…
  • I think you are losing at a pretty typical pace. The people who lose a lot of pounds per week are much more overweight than you are. I normally lose 1/2 pound a week. Bontril is available in the U.S.; I am taking it. I need to lose weight fast for my son's wedding in May. So if you want to lose fast, I suggest Phentermine…
  • I hope you can find a good Endocrinologist that can explain everything to you. In the meantime, I can help you a bit. I am assuming your measurements are the same as ours in the US. I've been dealing with thyroid issues my whole life. I was hyperthyroid and had a goiter, the bulging eyes, rapid heartbeat, was very thin,…
  • I'm taking generic Phentermine too. It won't help if you don't eat right. My weight loss clinic doctor stresses the importance of eating protein. I eat a lot of raw almonds, and the doctor says that is fine. I love steel cut oatmeal for breakfast, but the doctor said I should add protein to it, like eggs. Since I have…
  • I've taken it in the past and I am taking it now. But I am also eating healthy, keeping track of what I eat, and exercising. Many people on this forum are against doctor prescribed diet aids. If you have questions, friend me or message me, glad to help.
  • I talked to a Pharmacist about raising the dose. He said that is harmful and not to do it. I have tried increasing my dose in in the past, on my own. I took one 30mg. in the morning and one 30mg in the late afternoon. It still didn't work. It doesn't make a difference. Once it stops working, raising the dose won't make it…
  • Oh so true! I am logging my food and exercise diligently here. I had my monthly doctor visit yesterday. We discussed that this is the first time I have ever kept track of calories. And that I am scared that I will have to do it the rest of my life to keep the weight off. Also, I told the doctor I wish I could take…
  • Hey Lindsey, is your TSH normal now? That does sound frustrating. I had a test recently, and my TSH was 2. Even though that is in the normal range, I feel better and have more energy when my TSH is around 1. I am kind of OCD about it, but I get it checked around every three months. My Endocrinologist changes the dose as…
  • Well don't tell that to most of the people on this forum. Many people here like to tell people that taking diet pills is bad because it causes the yo-yo effect. It's not just diet pills that cause ups and downs. It's "dieting" instead of changing the way we eat that causes it.
  • I do Zumba twice a week. Three or four days a week I do an hour at a fast clip on my exercise bike at home. I do my physical therapy exercises for my back about five days a week. I need to do more core and strength training. My physical therapist said that cardio is the most important for me.
  • Veselina, That's pretty wonderful!! 4-5 intense workouts sound like a great idea, some rest for your body. I have a question for you. I am trying to figure out if the cardio calories really "count" against your food calories. Especially since we can't really get all that accurate about it.
  • I ordered it from Amazon because it had such great reviews. The reviewers must have been on crack. It doesn't do anything. I sent it back. Nice thing about Amazon that you can do that! What's with people who think Dr. Oz really knows what he's talking about?
  • People, what you're not getting is that many times people lose weight then gain it all back. Over and over. It has nothing to do with diet pills. The reason I posted about my yo-yo dieting, is that is going to be a thing of my past. I intend on changing that. I never will let myself get heavy again.
  • These are prescription drugs, prescribed by physicians. It always surprises me that the topic is something specific, yet some of you who have have no interest in this topic feel that it is your duty to tell us what we already know. Then you expect us to say "Gee whiz, I never knew that." and "Thanks for enlightening me."…
  • I feel all sweaty!!!!! And proud of myself.
  • Too funny! Nope, you still have to eat right, and exercise. That being said, I really like Phentermine. I love how in control I feel of my eating.
  • 5'1. The recommendation here was 1200, so that is what I am doing. I have a question, though. If I burn 500 calories from Zumba or riding my stationary bike, does that mean I only had 700 calories that day? I also agree about losing 1/2 pound a week. That's typically what I lose. Right now I am losing 1-2 pounds a week…
  • Just replying so I can see the answers. MyFitnessPro recommended 1200 calories for me. Let's say I eat 1200 calories worth of food. Let's say I burn 500 in calories. I am not sure I really do with an hour on my bike, but let's say I do. So would that mean I only consumed 700 calories? That's not what I want to do; my goal…
  • Yep I would love some friends! Feel free to friend me. We're all in this together.
  • I've lost 16 pounds since February 4th with Phentermine.
  • Absolutely! With not changing eating habits, the pounds will come back on faster than they came off. That being said, I have a doctor whose specialty is nutrition. In addition to lots of nutrition counseling, complete blood work, EKG, then blood pressure once a month, she gives me prescription diet pills. She gives me a…
  • Hi Lynn, Where you just don't feel like eating doesn't last that long for me. Usually a few days to a week. Don't worry about eating too little, you will soon be wanting to eat more. Enjoy it while it lasts! You lost two pounds a week. That's fantastic! I would imagine you don't have a lot of weight to lose? I had about 30…
  • I've been on internet forums for years. I have never seen cruelty like this. Especially when someone is asking for support.
  • Mac, the name of this thread is "Anyone taking Adipex?" Not "What do you think of Adipex" Not "How do you feel about diet pills?" Not "Please tell me about how evil diet aids are." Oh and by the way... thanks for letting us know that "A person can lose weight just changing your diet and doing some fitness". Whoulda thunk…
  • Yay!!!! Very impressive :)
  • That's impressive, Agman, that you went from 240 to 159 in 5 months! That does happen, though, to slide back into old habits, and have to do it all over again. That's what I have done over and over again. This is the very first time on Phen that I am changing my eating habits. This is also the first time I have ever logged…
  • I like the Jewish comfort food that my grandmother made. And the only carbs in it are from vegetables. You can make this in a slow cooker or on the stove. Chicken in the pot 6 chicken thighs or a cut-up whole chicken (I just use thighs because I like them) 4 carrots 3 stalks of celery 1 onion 1 tablespoon salt pepper to…
  • In my opinion, the only ones that are effective are the ones prescribed and closely monitored by a physician.
