i want to steer this conversation AWAY from the breakfast debate and ask what sort of things i can eat for snacks that are low in sugar and calories but really filling...i'm on 1360 calories today and have a busy day with no time for exercise, so don't have a lot of lee-way with my calories...and i'm starving!!!
-
i'm going through the same thing...sometimes it seems like the harder i push, the less results i see...i'm trying to remember what i did in week one to lose 3 pounds, because it's been itty-bitty weight losses since then...

my calves have been sore for 6 weeks...i stretch...i ice...i use icy-hot...they are so UN-used to exercise, it's pathetic...i ran 2 miles today and wanted to quit the whole time...but finished...i have to constantly remind myself why i'm doing this...for my health...and my happiness...and because people always act like i…

my first 5k is this coming weekend...so far i've only ran as far as 2.0-2.3 miles, which i do a few times a week...i'm worried i won't be able to run all 3.1 miles, which is my goal...i don't want to walk any of it, but there'a giant hill at mile 2 that has me a little spooked...any tips for me?
-
thanks everybody for all the tips...i'm gonna try and put some of them to use. i stopped eating back ALL of my exercise calories last week, because i figured MFP wasn't completely accurate on food cals or exercise cals...also, my sugars are always super high because i can't seem to stop eating fruit. any suggestions on…

um, maybe i'm just overthinking it, but this seems so complicated to me? can someone dumb it down even further for me? :)
-
ok, i think i'll try swapping down to 1 or 1.5 pound loss for a bit to try and confuse things a little, calorie wise...
-
MFP allows me 1360 calories a day...i have my weight loss goal as 2 pounds a week...do you think i'd have more luck if i switched it to 1 pound or 1.5 pounds and was allowed more calories?

i used to use the Mayo Clinic website for low sodium recipes...all their recipes have 140 mg or less of sodium... http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/low-sodium-recipes/RE00101

when i quit 2 months ago, i had found a website like this one, but for quitting smoking...you get daily email tips, community forums like these, etc. it tells you each day how many cigarettes you haven't smoked since you quit, how much money you've saved, how much life you gained, etc...i could've never quit without the…

i quit 2 months ago...i found a Rubik's Cube in our closet and went on you-tube to learn the algorithms to solve it...worked on it all weekend long while eating Wint-O-green lifesavers...the rubik's cube kept my mind and hands busy so i didn't even realize i was fighting cravings. PLUS, now i can solve a rubik's cube! 57…

i know it's hard, but stick with it...it's gets easier and easier! i'm running about 2 miles at a time now, with not too much struggle, about 11-12 minutes a mile! and when i started, i couldn't run for more than 30 seconds at a time!
-
wow, trail run? good for you! i'd bust an ankle, for sure!
-
i was just going to ask if anyone had tried this model...i'm going to take back my $60 watch tomorrow and get that instead! how long have you had it and do you think it's pretty accurate?
-
i bought a watch-variety for $60 at a sporting goods store yesterday...i want to like it, but i just don't trust it! i wore it on the treadmill today and it was spot on with the treadmill HRM i used throughout the activity, but my "calories burned" according to my watch was like 100 more than the treadmill calculated...not…

kristina- i'm 5'5", 199 pounds...and my legs are pretty short, so i have a pretty short stride...
-
i saw that $47 walmart one today...it does come with a chest strap, so i'm tempted to try it for being so cheap...but if it doesn't work, i'd rather spend an extra $30 and get one that will give me the results i want. :)

i used C25k, until the end of week 6...i accidentally ran for 30 minutes straight instead of 20 (30 straight is week 9), so then i just started running for distance...and more importantly, running to enjoy it!
-
yeah, pretty much anything under $75 would be attainable...i didn't realize that i could get a chest strap setup for under $100...i'll check that website, thanks!
