Check out blogger and fitness trainer Tina Reale's Best Body Bootcamp. She's about to launch the 5th round on April 1st! Includes 8 weeks of workouts, never repeating the same workout, and it's really great! Can be modified and can be done at home or at the gym. I lost 5 lbs. my first time! Some people lost even more. We…

Honestly, it depends on how often you're going to eat it. I mean, how often do you have Mexican? if it's once every few months, you could probably eat the beans and not worry about it. But if you're having coffee everyday, then stick to cream, not soy. It all depends on your frequency, IMO.

Sugar is such an arbitrary category. All of that is actually included in your carbohydrate column, it's just that the simple sugars are isolated. And sugar covers everything from natural fructose, lactose from dairy, or sucrose from junk food. I really wouldn't worry about it because it's really not going to help you…

I love Runkeeper!

I'm the same way. Since going on Paleo and mostly cutting out the starchy carbs, my Lantus has dropped and it keeps dropping. :)

Well, if high blood sugars are caused by fattening foods, then yes, there is a correlation between insulin, high blood sugar and weight gain. But it isn't the insulin or blood sugar specifically. It's the food you are choosing to eat, which are normally difficult to bolus for, and which requires you to take more insulin.…

Resistance training and then cardio. Resistance training needs a lot of your glycogen stores for energy, so if you burn through it in cardio, you might find yourself weaker. I know I do.
-
Fact: Cardio burns calories. Fact: Strength training burns calories, and it burns more of them because of afterburn. Fact: Calories can come from fat stores. Fact: Fat does not turn into muscle. You burn fat and build muscle. But they are two different processes. Fact: If you eat more calories than you burn, you won't lose…

They naturally have the ability to be a size zero because of their body structure. There are people who will NEVER be a size 0 and that's OK. You should not strive to be a number. You should strive to be healthy for YOU.

I try to buy really cheap clothes while losing weight. Lots of Target, TJ Maxx, just got some jeans at Old Navy for $25 when I grew "out" of my size 16s. And I only bought one pair and they're going to have to last me! This way I don't feel so bad about losing weight. I only buy things that I think will last me several…

The elliptical is going to be better for someone who has ankle and knee problems, because there isn't as much force when you land. But that's pretty much the only benefit I can think of. There really isn't a "better." It's all preference.

I love anything involving a slow cooker! Usually you just dump the ingredients in (sometimes you have to lightly brown something) and then let it cook all day!

It's mostly bone structure, I think. Some people are just naturally built taller and wider than others.

I definitely ate fruit on the Whole 30, but never indulged or used as a dessert. I usually had a banana at lunch, maybe an apple or orange or something at lunch, and rarely a piece of fruit at dinner. I eat lots of sweet potatoes, avocado, spinach and kale (now eating more swiss chard), squashes, bacon, organic sausage,…

1) Snacks for us include Paleo Larabars (some are, some aren't - check the label!), apples and nut butter, other fruit, nuts (usually pistachios or cashews). But honestly we eat so much protein at meals that we're rarely hungry until the next meal. 2) I don't keep track of macros but I'm usually between 50-100 carbs per…

When I eat packaged or very simple foods (like apple and nut butter) it works great, but I have issues with all the recipe-based meals that we have that don't offer nutritional data. Makes it almost impossible to log even though we are eating healthier (using Paleo cookbooks). It's not really the fault of MFP, but it is…

If you're losing weight and feeling good, why sweat about percentages? Clearly your body likes what you are doing so stick with it. YMMV (your mileage may vary) so don't worry about an arbitrary computer that's giving the same advice to everyone. Go with what works for you.

We lived off of the Practical Paleo cookbook during our Whole30. Loved it! Now we've expanded to include Everyday Paleo as well, although we're not on the Whole30 anymore. There are also some websites, like NomNomPaleo, that have recipes online. I definitely suggest checking those out to get an idea of what you can eat…

Yeah. :)

If you're eating a low carb meal, many people find they have to bolus for some of the protein. I know I do! I bolus for about half of the protein as if they were carbs. My CDE explained that when you eat only protein, your body can actually convert some of that into glucose in order to get the energy it needs. So that can…

I actually used the training program with Runkeeper, and liked that better. I was slightly more in shape than what C25K is set at the beginning. I like that Runkeeper isn't so regimented with their run/walk cycles. There's a little more freedom to speed up or slow down when you want, IMO, so I like that. Plus, I like the…

If anything I'm probably eating too little, because protein fills me up for hours. I wouldn't focus on how much a restaurant meal is. What are the calories for most of your meals? You probably don't go to Ted's everyday, so are you always going over? What are some of the higher calorie foods that you're eating?

1200 calories is crazy low. Try eating more! You'll feel better and still lose weight.

I'm planning on making a Blueberry Crumble from the Practical Paleo cookbook, and a paleo vanilla ice cream I found online. :)

I've found that I get hungry at regular times throughout the day, so that I eat about three meals and maybe one snack. I eat solid, filling meals, and from when I was calorie counting, it was about 1400-1600, which I don't feel is too low. But if you're satiated and losing weight, then that's what's important. Not some…

I only eat Chobani and I never noticed that much issue with it. It's about 20 grams of carbs I think.

I participated in the Whole30 Challenge, www.whole9life.com. The community and principles really made it simple to get it started and motivated to keep going since you were doing it with a whole bunch of people. It's been great, and a good foundation for the rest of my life!

I've actually heard it's a genetic way of how your body disperses fat. Like they said, you can't spot train, but I also know thinner people who have small armpit fat deposits. Just something to keep in mind.

For my first 2.5 weeks on Whole30 I didn't calorie count at all. But being a type 1 diabetic, I have to count carbs and I've been using MFP to look stuff up but not saving anything. Then I realized it might be helpful to just see how I'm doing. One thing that has surprised me is that I can eat much less calories on Paleo…

Chronically low blood sugars can eventually lower your hypoglycemia threshold, making it difficult to feel the lows until you're near unconscious. So that's something to keep in mind too.
