Every day will get a little better! I'd say every day was about half as bad as the day before :)

Welcome to the group! Like others have said this is an awesome support group to have throughout this journey. I spent a lot of time pre-op reading up on other people's experiences, it is nice to be able to connect with people going through similar situations :) I was sleeved 12/16/14 and have no regrets, good luck to you!

Good luck! I'd make sure to have comfy clothes, chapstick, slippers, and a pillow

I've had hair loss since about 2 months out, at almost 7 months I think it's finally starting to slow down. I take biotin and make sure to get my protein in, I think that's mostly all you can do, I've read that as your body regulates itself the hair loss slows and eventually stops.

OMG yes! I had to sit through a 2 hour long orientation class the other day on a hard plastic chair and thought I was going to go crazy! Long car rides are not as enjoyable anymore either, have to constantly shift around to try to get comfortable, I feel your pain lol

I'm finding myself in the same boat lately, a hand full of peanuts here, just a couple of pita chips with hummus there, a chocolate kiss...the list goes on, I realize that I am starting to get out of control with the snacking, I need to just woman up and do what I know needs to be done, but it is so hard! We can do this…

looking great :)

I am also a nurse and work 12 hour night shifts, I like to take a few smaller snacks that I can eat at my computer if I have to. Some of my common choices are chicken salad with what thins, greek yogurt with granola, lunch meat with cheese slices or string cheese, cut fruit, almonds, jerky, baby carrots and sugar snap…

I also weigh myself daily, but I only record my weight on Tuesdays. I think as long as you realize that there will be fluctuations daily ,ups, downs, and stalls, it's okay. But if you think it might be better to put it away for awhile because you feel like you are obsessing, then I think that's okay too! :)

In the first couple of months after surgery I really liked the Syntrax Nectar protein drinks, I used fuzzy navel and strawberry kiwi. They mix with water and were thinner ans easier to get down, I bought mine on Amazon.com

We drove from Michigan to Florida and I packed a cooler with reduced fat cheese, I spread laughing cow cheese on some deli turkey and made roll-ups, greek yogurt, protein shakes, and cottage cheese. Going out I was still on the pureed phase at that point so I stuck with mostly soups, have a great time!

Welcome Jen! I started with a BMI of 43 and was 277.5lbs at my heaviest, I was sleeved in December and am now at a BMI of 27 :) Good luck! This community is a great resource! I don't think I would have been as successful without it
