Welcome Cheryl. I have been on here for about 1-1/2 years, and love it. I have taken off 25 lbs. and am now at goal weight, and still log in. Weight loss is just calories in versus calories out. It works. Good luck, just stick with it and you'll get there.

Everyone has a bad day every now and then, just make certain they're few and far between. Tomorrow will be a brand new day.

It's very easy to overeat your workouts. Electronic devices, including MFP have a history of over estimating calories burned, plus you automatically feel justified in consuming more calories when you're working out. The result is always getting bigger and gaining weight. Because of this over estimation of calories burned,…

The closer you get to goal the harder it is to lose those last few pounds. It takes like what seems forever. I am at goal now and I hit huge plateaus at around 150. Up two down two. I learned to be happy with 1/4 pound loss and the estatic with a 1/2 pound loss in a week. Finally I hit 140, and I am staying here, and to…

Breastfeeding doesn't mean you eat more or consume more calories than you can burn to accommodate breast feeding, it just means you eat a balanced diet. Calories in versus Calories out.

I still eat fast food. I am at goal weight now after a long journey to get here. But if I eat a Big Mac for lunch, I know I am going to be eating very light for dinner. In that I've turned into a fresh fruit addict at night.

Well you would have to eat 10500 more calories than you're alloted on MFP in 3 days to gain 3 pounds? That's a lot of eating and drinking!

Low fat or skim milk goes good with dinner.

Sciatica happens a lot. It's a group of nerve bundles at the bottom of your back that are acting up. They say walking is good for it, but if it just won't go away doctors are starting to give shots of cortisone for it, sometimes right into the Sciatica, which relieves the pain and let's you move again. Good Luck with that,…

Walking is great exercise. 10k steps a day is fantastic. Time to purchase a FitBit to track the steps you take in a day, you will be surprised.

You have to know where the start point is before you can cross the finish line, so it would be a good idea to get on the scale now. I weighed myself every morning while I was on this journey, now I weigh myself once a week, now that I am at goal weight.

Eggs have a lot of necessary protein, it used to be that 6 eggs or more a week were a no no. I eat a lot of hard boiled eggs, sometimes 2 a day. They stay with me for quite a while and I don't get hungry. I use them as a snack. If you're worried about it, just Google it and see what the recommendation is. I don't hear much…

Moderation is the key for me.

Another number 1 best seller, available now for the first time ever. Dr. OZ will be all over this one! Of course ONLY designed to remove money from your wallet, while you get fatter than ever. There is no magic pill, no magic potion, and no ridiculous 17 day diet. Weight loss isn't rocket science it's simply calories in,…

Remember weight comes off slowly, and you sure didn't gain it all overnight. You said you lost weight during the 1st week, but I imagine that was extra water weight. I don't know how much you want to lose, but it's all in the math. Super Obese people can shred several pounds a week, simply because they're accustomed to…

You gained back the weight because you started consuming more calories. I am at goal weight now, and I continue to log in my calories. That 25 pounds was just too hard to lose for me to try and find it again.

You can eat anything you want as long as you stay within your calorie goal. Weight loss is simply calories in versus calories out.

Trying to do it together is fine, just as long as one of you doesn't stop, and you both go down with the tide. Remember this is for YOU, not someone else.

There is no such thing as losing weight, without getting hungry. Regardless if you're just 15 pounds overweight or 150 pounds overweight, everyone suffers thru it. Eventually your mind and stomach get accustomed to the lower calorie consumption and the hunger pangs stop. But it's hard at first, and it is the primary reason…

There's no avoiding getting hungry. Once your body and mind get used to consuming less calories the constant hunger pangs will stop. The fit girls remedy a tablespoon all natural peanut butter will cure the hunter. Good Luck!

I am at my goal weight now, all in all I have taken off about 25 pounds over the last couple of years. You can do it, don't expect it to come off quickly, the math won't let you do that. Keep in mind that one pounds equals 3500 calories, and with you having to lose 20 pounds it's going to be difficult to cut your calories…

Everyone has different body shapes, and every woman has that thing that they don't like about their own body, regardless of how perfect you see them as. Anyway move on, the more you lose, the higher your self esteem will go. Good luck and keep going!

Sure you don't have to exercise to lose weight, albeit you would lose it faster if you're burning more calories in a period of time. Walking is just fine.
-
There's no magic pill out there to help you lose weight, they're advertised to remove money from your wallet and nothing else. Weight loss is simply calories in versus calories out and it takes a person with "true grit" to understand that and then just do it.

Anything less than 1200 calories a day is going to put your metabolism in shut down or starvation mode. Our bodies have their own brains, and a few thousand years of genetics tells them what to do, in periods of not enough food around.

My doctor wanted me to take a diabetes test, which insulted me, because I was 10 to 15 pounds overweight, then I saw a show with people who contacted Type 2 diabetes that were only a few pounds overweight, and that was the cold bucket of water over my head. I am at a normal BMI now, goal weight and I feel decades younger…

While I eat a lot more fruit and vegis, I still have to have that Big Mac every now and then. Sometimes I eat the fries too. But when I do this I really cut back on other food during the day. It's worked for me, I am finally at goal weight.
-
Weight loss is simply calories in versus calories out. It doesn't mean you have to give up all your fast food, it just means you eat a lot less of it. If I eat fast food for lunch, I know dinner is going to be cereal. Be faithful about logging in your calories every day, be honest about your activity level, and realize…

700 calories a day for a month is going to make you weak and lethargic. Exercising would be out of the question.

At your height and current weight it won't come off quickly. The last 10 pounds come off very slowly. I had to learn to be happy with a 1/4 pound loss a week and es tactic over a 1/2 pound loss per week. Only the super obese can talk about losing mega pounds in a week, simply because they're accustomed to eating 5 to 7…
