Feel free to add me. While I don't have any more weight to lose, I have lost 89 lbs and reached my goal weight, am now focused on fitness. I've gone through the struggle of losing and maintaining so feel free to add me.

Are you eating enough?
-
- not wiping down the equipment - really I don't want to sit on someone else's butt sweat - Someone walking too close to my bar when I'm mid-squat, OHP, BP, etc.

I've heard deodorant works well, I haven't tried it myself, but was told it works
-
Yep I know

Doubled up yoga mat works great, or a pool noodle. I've used both at lifting 135 lbs and these prevent the bruises I get otherwise

I came into this thread all ready to jump on the men only thing....but never mind, I have no valuable advice to offer lol

I love to lift, feel free to add me

I had 3 c-sections, with 3 large babies. So lots of skin stretching, my tummy will never be flat. I now have a lot of excess skin on my tummy. For me, surgery will unfortunately be the only option I have to get rid of it.

SW 224 lbs in feb 2014 GW 137 reached in December 2015 CW 135 First 40 lbs my only activity was walking, I then joined a gym in September 2014 and fell in love with lifting. I now lift 3-5 times a week.

Are your biceps like it all the time or just while/after lifting? Measure your biceps at regular intervals, you'll know if you are gaining in size

If you are meeting your protein macro with regular food, you don't need shakes. However, if you have trouble getting enough protein (like I do) then a shake is good to have. Figure out how much protein you should be having,'track your food accurately and judge from there if you need it.

You have to want to lose weight for you, and not care what anyone else's opinion is. That includes keeping it to yourself, unless specifically asked. I know that is difficult, when you're doing well you want to tell people about it....use your MFP friends list for that

Your body needs carbs for energy.

This!!! This is what I do. I don't have the wrist flexibility to hold the bar in front squat so my trainer showed me how to do this. Works great.

You are just starting, focus on body weight exercises for now. Search on YouTube for body weight exercises. You'll know when you are ready to move to weights.

For cardio, any with a fast beat, dance music, hip hop, etc. For lifting, heavy metal or hard rock.
-
I had just turned 40 when I started lifting, about a year and a half ago. Wish I had started sooner

I grew up in a remote, forested area, where it wasn't unusual to go for a walk and meet bears or moose on the road. So love the name. Feel free to add me.
