What do you mean only iPhones have GPS? I'm fairly certain all smartphones have built in GPS these days... I think you'd be hard pressed to find one that doesn't!

You don't have to have WiFi for the internet apps to work... they run on your carriers web and should work just fine unless your gym is in a cave.

Couch to 5K and RunKeeper are my FAVS... I use them with Pandora... AMAZING Couch to 5K is a 9 week program... It's 1.99 on the Android Market and it's worth it

Use the "Instant Heart Rate Monitor" Android App! I've checked it with the hospital several times and it's dead on. Won't tell you anything other than your heart rate but if that's all you're looking for, it's GREAT!
