  • I did the C25K programme but I had to repeat several of the weeks as I just wasn;t ready to move on. I then found that mentally I found it really hard to run 8 minutes, walk a few and then run again. In the end I just forced myself to increase my running time by just 30 seconds to a minute each time. This approach actually…
  • I like running alone. When my daughter is at home we run together as we have similar pace and stamina but can encourage each other but she is away a lot of the year. Tried running with a friend a few times but she was more advanced than me and I really couldn't keep up and hated holding her back. Now I don't want to run…
  • My mum is the same, she can't wear anything without at least an inch heel. This was ok when she was younger but now she is in her 70s with poor balance she is struggling to walk at all and would be so much better in flats. Stick to working hard and don't use shortcuts that could give you a lasting injury.
  • Sorry to hear that you think the posts are negative. I have just read through this thread and I think people are trying to be supportive and kind by telling you that you may find this one giant leap too far and then will fall off the healthier lifestyle bandwagon altogether as it is very difficult to maintain a huge…
  • 6th - 1.6miles Ended up doing an 11 hour shift at work and I am only counting excercise miles so not great!
  • If its any type with caffeine be ready to feel really rough for a few days. I used to drink a fair bit of diet coke and I had the most awful headache for about a week after I cut it back. I found stopping it made me less bloated too even though I have no kidney problems I am sure it was making me retain water.
  • I haven't eaten PB for years as my husband hates the smell of the stuff. I'm having a PB craving now and he is away for a few days so guess what I'm buying tomorrow?
  • 1st-Had to spend all day inside waiting for a phonecall so a bad start. 2nd- 5.5 miles
  • Hi, I'm Dawn. A first timer who is going to aim to walk 100 miles. I was running 5k three times a week but an injury means I have had to cut my running right back so I need an incentive to keep walking. I am increasing my running a bit too but will just be tracking my proper walks using Mapmywalk.
  • Can anyone tell me how to get invlved in the challenges, still very new to MFP!
  • A good excercise bra is worth it's weight in gold. I go for the highest impact one or I think mine would eventually end up bouncing on my knees after my run! Not wearing a really supportive bra is bad for the skin and connective tissue of your breasts so take care to look after them properly.
  • If I don't have much time then I have a banana but if I have an hour to let my food digest then I have porridge. I tried running without eating but I always ended up feeling sick and faint even over a very short time. I have lways been someone who has to eat first thing in the morning although I can then go most of the day…
  • My husband statrted suffering pain in his foot. It seemed like a tightness and then settles in to a pressure pain on the inside of his heel. He has had a diagnosis of Plantar Faciitis. It looks like a real problem with running and the recovery looks long too. The quicker it is treated the better. Google it and see if it…
  • I am so jealous, I would love to do this one. Did my first 5K in WDW in February and have decided I am going for the Princess half marathon next year. I have been looking at the Jeff Galloway walk/run method as I think at 47 my knees will not like the full distance running and many people seem to use this. I did the C25K…
