  • LOVE Wii EA Sports! Have the first one and am working through the 30 day challenge on 'hard' - lost my first 10-15lbs working the medium game & riding with my horse. I would totally by EA Sports 2 - or both 1&2, especially if you can get them at EB games used - super cheap!! I saw the trailer for Jillian Micheal's game…
  • I would up your caloric intake a bit... you are eating on the low end of calories it seems and you're working out on top of that... your body is probably in shock from the change and needs you to bring in more fuel so it can burn it and make muscle to eat away fat.
  • Welcome PartonSarah!!! I go by a childhood nickname: Skylar. I am 23, and an MBA student in New York. I got injured as a kid (did serious damage to both knees) and was in and out of PT for a very long time. I finally got to the point I could ride horses again and I jumped at the chance my senior year of college. By then I…
  • Most gyms now a days have a PT session to get you oriented with the equipment. Some gyms call this 'orientation' others market it as '2 free sessions with PTs.' If this is included - use it and ask TONS of questions. If not, see if you can set up an orientation appointment. PTs will create a workout for you - including how…
  • you did say high school reunion, right? not graduation? =P You look GREAT! Congrats on your journey & good luck as you push to the finish line!
  • I have more confidence and because I value my time at a higher cost (squeezing in a workout = better health = happier me = time value higher) I am getting more organized. I am also being honest with myself about other things in life. Do I REALLY want to spend time with 'that' group? The one that makes me feel heavy and…
  • I always eat between 0-50% of my exercise calories back. The more I burn, the more I eat back. I try to keep a cal deficit of around 100-300 calories beyond what MFP sets my calorie goal at if I'm exercising. If eating back all of them isn't working for you- you may be gaining muscle that weighs more/equal to the fat…
  • Tell them you are gluten-free. Seriously. Live gluten free for the summer - anywhere you work has to make allotment for dietary needs. Lean meats, rice/potatoes, fruits & veggies. No breads, no fried foods. Tell them you need to live gluten free. They have to (if you are in the USA) by law deliver a diet appropriate for…
  • i would say find out your body fat %. no insurance company is going to put you in the 'unhealthy/overweight/risk' pool if your body fat % is in line - and it certainly looks like it is. congrats on all your success thus far! my doctor has given me instructions as to how low I can go - and i'm not allowed to get very far…
  • my wings are getting smaller doing this stuff - but i'll still losing ALL over.
  • I am IN! Bella and I have WAY too much in common - maybe by working this challenge my body will look a little more fit - like hers - by showtime. Starting a new Wii challenge today - that should meet Week 3's challenge! Can't wait for week 4's!
  • Live in Rochester. Family on Keuka Lake & in Clarence so I spend time in both as well. Anyone ever wants to go for a long bike ride or walk or something, give me a shout!
  • soooooo I have been away from my Wii for two weeks! and it's missing me. but more importantly, i am missing it. =) Hope a new challenge is posted soon!
  • while i agree these foods are important to eat & they have value to our dietary systems... http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1896439_1896359_1896346,00.html
  • this just made my day! congrats on your new gun - and your hard work that permitted you to carry ;)
  • My roommate is doing the Warrior Dash later this summer! Hope you have a GREAT time! Let us know how it goes!!!
  • I've lost 9lbs in just shy of a month! So excited!! about 4 weeks away from my halfway point in my weight loss goal! Should be hitting that sweet spot on July 4th - just in time for family beach games & BBQ!
  • CONGRATS on your weight loss & thanks for being so generous as to share your shorts with other losing weight!
  • My doc said to drink water - this helps with the cellulite. And that it takes time. Skin stretches quicker than it retracts. But your skin cells die quite fast in comparison to the rest of your body and they won't regenerate as many where there is 'loose' skin because it doesn't have a purpose. Working abs will definitely…
  • check in with your doctor - you're looking great! if there's still some shakiness (flab) that you want to tighten up - go for it. But if not, don't risk your long term health by doing too much. congrats on your success!
  • FIRST - GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR. Gaining that amount of weight in 3 days is a warning sign for all types of bigger issues. Second - drink lots of water to flush out the toxins you released doing all that hiking. Third - back to healthy foods & exercise. If it is water weight, 2 will deal with it. If you did gain 3 will help -…
  • 1.Skylar 2. 205 3. I have hit a plateau and could use an extra buddy to push me over the edge. I lost my first 19lbs easy, but had a stressful week and am having trouble getting back in the groove. However, even while stressing & not exercising myself, I supported all my fitness pals on their journeys. I am now BACK &…
  • baby spinach cherry poppyseed vinegrette dried cherries strawberries sliced green apple walnuts (NOT candied) feta cheese AMAZING salad. I often add chicken to it, but its great without it. i just weigh everything & plug the ingredients into the food diary. That way I can make it big or small depending on my 'munchies'…
  • plug it all in and see how much you went over? then try to have that large a deficit today. lots 'o exercise would be my guesstimate...
  • I've always been told that part of the body is last to firm up. I walk/run/jog and that's helping take inches off of mine. I also like doing reverse crunches - laying on couch or bed or floor and working my legs into my abs in a biking type motion, slowly. I feel my lower abs really tightening from that workout each day.…
  • I've ripped through all the bands I've ever had (5 or so) I've NEVER ripped through a cord. That's why I prefer cords.
  • Slimin' Summer Students? Students Slimin' for Summer? {not really for summer - for us!} Summer of Change: Student Edition LOL, guess I'm not too good at this either!
  • I don't think you need to see a professional, but I would advise you to think of getting fit rather than losing x lbs. You're within the healthy range, so focus on toning rather than 'losing.' What you're really saying is you want your pre-child body back & want to feel & look healthy - that's not necessarily a change of…
