I don't think it's that clearcut - either eat only things you hate or go over your calorie limit to prove you're alive. You can fit treats into your calorie limit. It's honestly more fun doing it that way. Yesterday, I had 2/3 of a peanut butter kitkat after salad for dinner, and a later sugary ginger milk after exercise.…

They can still be ordinary siblings, even if they have different surnames.
-
... You are, sure. But he seems very messed up. Your kids have to be the step-siblings of your other kid? I'm not saying his kid should be referred to as a step-sibling, either. But the current arrangement sounds difficult.

No starvation mode. Just bank the calories if you don't wan to eat. Why push it.

I could've written this! One very good thing to do is find out the underlying problem. If you are that focused on appearance, it seems that you think appearance will make you happy. It won't. It hasn't made anybody happy except narcissists, for obvious reasons. Remember that physical beauty is transient. What matters in…

The only thing I can suggest is to use less sugar (1 tsp) and then let your tea cool some before drinking, which makes the sweet taste stronger because the whole experience is less... hot (SCIENCE!). Otherwise I just budget some calories for hot tea with milk and sugar.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. Do coaches still make their athletes do them?

Try to get in more protein. It does work, although I still get hungry sometimes. Think of something you want very badly that you can't get if you don't lose weight. It's what's been working for me these days.
-
CONGRATULATIONS :D Good work!

Is there any truth to the idea that they're bad for one's back? Or anyone's back? I've been trying to do planks instead.
-
Hah! Good point.
-
Thank you!
-
You look great! Congrats on the weight loss.
-
If you're eating over 1200, then that should be fine. Especially if it's just one day when you don't feel so hungry. No need to force it.
-
It bums me out so I try to do it about once a week. If you're counting calories and exercising, and unless you're some kind of magical exception, you're probably losing weight. If it stresses you out, limit the number of times you do it. For me, the number affects my mood a lot, so I try to limit it. If I know I've been…

There are pads that don't chafe. Just wear dark coloured pants. Honestly though, to the people who exercise even on the painful days, bravo! I can go the day before and maybe, if I really push myself, some of the later days, but on that one pain day I prefer to just sleep it off as much as possible, or focus on sit down…

If parents are feeding their kids fried food at every meal, then yes, social services should step in. There are some messed up parents out there. No, their kids should not be taken away from them, they should just be thoroughly educated about nutrition. If a kid is morbidly obese or whatever, teachers should speak to their…

I try not to eat between meals and it's great but sometimes the cravings hit... one afternoon, hit with a mad cheddar craving but determined to only drink between meals, I tried to invent the Hot Cheese. Mission was impossible, sadly.

I'm grateful for the food I have access to... for example, this morning: strawberries, banana and chia seed smoothie, stuff from all over the world. I'm grateful for so many things, including for the people I love giving me time to sort through my issues. Everything seems very rushed in the world, I'm grateful for the…

I've recently started budgeting some calories for a sweet tea with milk before bed. It's just a good way to destress for me. Is there something warm/cold and savoury/sweet that you particularly enjoy? It might be a good way to wind down. Have a cut off time for eating, if it helps. If you aren't going to eat after eight,…

In my culture, we just have very calorific food! And we don't practice portion control. Also, people don't exercise much and everybody cares too much about what everybody else thinks so they're embarrassed to exercise in public. Add all that to 6x likelihood to get diabetes, like other South Asians, and you start to see…

I've got heat and humidity over here. The thing is, a little goes a long way in summer, so fighting through the laziness (and believe me, I've gone weeks avoiding exercise in the heat) is worth it even for running outside. But it's better to go in the evening or early morning. I'm going to try to go this evening, in fact,…

You didn't fail, you still ate at a deficit. More importantly, as someone who has in the past (... yesterday) gone about 1200 over my 1200 goal, I can say that the worst thing to do is wallow. Just move on. Find filling foods. Focus on something other than calories, to see if that's messing you up - for example, too little…

There's a guy who comes in and sleeps all day. Yesterday, at an office meeting, he was streched out on a chair, his cheap trousers riding high on his legs, feet half out of his cheap slippers (everyone else wears shoes to work), mouth open. He doesn't do anything but nobody wants to be the one to fire him. And it's a…

I don't want to eat animal products but that's where I'm at right now. And the most shameful thing is that I'm eating eggs laid by battery-farm hens. I don't know if you've ever seen a baby chick cry after its beak gets cut off with a hot blade, but I don't recommend it. Basically I've been acting like these low-calorie…

Yay muscle! Well done!
-
Oooh interesting, more spaghetti! Also, no added calories by soaking in water.
-
Things with protein! I didn't try it for ages. It does work!
-
Gastritis maybe? I can't take too much acid either. Maybe worth a trip to the doctors to see what's up if you're having such an extreme reaction.

Avoid Pret! Very delicious, I know, but not in a calorie conscious way. I'd go for the Subway salad, personally, but that's because I love the jalapeno, olives and pickle combo they've got going.
